It's called demand. There's no organization plotting ways to punish parents once again. It's actually ignorant and selfish to think that airlines shouldn't adjust prices for a large spike in demand.

That's funny how blackout dates are school holidays.
Penalised for having kids yet again.

For the moaning parents out there. Your time will come. We've all been through the high priced holidays. It's not going to change.
But for us older generation, or those yet to have a family, this is a cracking bargain and MOST appreciated! So, Thank you. I'll soon be off on my jollies... Yay!

Yup , and now I want to take the Grandchildren on holiday lol , we are not moaning about having kids , it is about the greed of the travel companies as it does not only go up by a little bit but pretty much double the usual cost , or more , for the whole party which does make it expensive for families to travel , not impossible for many but expensive YES , but it does make you thankful if you can even manage it

Waste of time! We go to Malaga regularly and the combination of outward and return make it impossible to get any of these deals. Finding both legs at £35 is about a likely as England winning the Euros. I tried all kinds of combinations is September and couldn't get close to the'offer'. This is just a scam to suck you into their website so they can charge you more than the headline offer.

an easy solution would be to stagger the school holidays all over the country, problem is that its school holidays at the same time everywhere. some holidays in summer would overlap but would be much more competitive for the rest of the year.

Not any better for us teachers, least parents have the option of nabbing a cheap holiday, only way I'm getting a deal is if I don't have a job to go back to

Yeah, people complaining at being unable to fly in school holidays, despite the fact some people will never be able to afford a holiday abroad in their working lives.

Their pay reflects the lengthy time off.
I'm sure you would be super thrilled to have your pay reduced in order to force you to have more time off, wouldn't you? no?

It's still making tons of extra money out of those who have no choice but to travel in the school holidays

Agreed. I've got school-age kids but we still manage to find cheap flights for every school holiday by shopping around, going to less traditional destinations and faffing around a bit with routings to avoid the high-demand hotspots. It's the same as everything - you pay more for things that are in peak demand, and get discounts for things that are less popular.
