The hdmi port is next to the memory card slot, shown in the third photo down on the left side of the screen.

yeah thanks. BTW: i3 5005U is a dual core, no quad core processor. Still a good deal I think. Heat added.

Oh sorry, my bad ^^
That is a worse laptop all round, but if you want the SSD that bad its certainly an option, laptops tend to be quite fast tho even with HDD, they're not desktop slow
it could have an i7 and a GTX 980 in there, I still wouldn't buy a HP laptop in a million years.

how does this compare to a second hand thinkpad t440
DatAlbino to dave111

The t440 has a slightly faster 4200U processor, altho its still dual core so the difference shouldn't be alot, the t440 has a full HD screen which is great, and a 720p webcam
However this Dell has better graphics (5500>4400), has more storage at 1TB, and a bigger screen with a decent resolution
Both have 4GB DDR3L RAM, 3 USB ports, Bluetooth 4.0 and a dual core CPU.
There isn't a crazy difference between the 2, for the much lower price I would personally get this new rather than a used t440

Seems fairly easy to replace the hard drive (to SSD) and the memory; good deal.

Why is it a worse laptop? Processors are the same, RAM is the same, plus it has a (smallish) SSD.
Don't understand your other comment. Desktops aren't constrained by heat and power in the same way as laptop, so tend to offer better performance for the money than a laptop.

wtf?

I think it is cos of the massively reduced battery life and the fact that switching an SSD in is quite easy, so the added SSD isnt even of much benefit, you can just switch one in and have 1TB AND an SSD here

Hot, decent spec for the money and not too heavy for a cheap 15.6" either (2.1kg).

It might as well the way gtx 900's are dropping in price ^^

I hit the waiting list button and suddenly the deal was back on. Just purchased with a delivery of around 2nd July. Is that right?

Yeah, if people dont want to buy it you get the option to buy it. I just managed to nab one. Long'ish wait for delivery though.

Screen quality on this Dell is decent, over HD but not quite full HD, and a good size too at 15.6

Kinda disappointed here since upgrading ram and harddisk is almost impossible... why isn't there a simple access to ram and hd?
anyone else noticed the 4gb ram already installed is only 1 channel 800mhz?
I hope it will function well with my 8gb ddr3l dual channel (1600 mhz).
