I haven't tried it yet, but there is an install script for it in PlayOnLinux. It might be outdated but did you try that?

Great game but but I felt it was hard to progress unless you had a generous amount of free time to dedicate to it.
However I'm not an MMO player, I bought it because it loved the previous Elder Scrolls games

Yeah, I've seen script but they don't always work so I thought I'll ask if anyone did actually managed before I'll buy it.

I just had to check something. This *is* the game that recently had the DirectX 9 renderer (as well as the OpenGL renderer) removed in a recent update. WINE/PlayOnLinux used the DX9 renderer, so until DX11 compatibility gets better in WINE it looks like it will be unplayable for a while. Which sucks, obviously.

Pros: Lots of single-player content (before you even think about the DLC) - this can be played solo or with others. Its nice-looking, plenty of play style customisation available, varied environments. Separate PvP region.
Cons: Its much shallower than the other ES games, many of the "dungeon" maps can be very similar to each other (and much smaller than eg Skyrim) and there only seem to be five basic types of opponent (grunt/ bowman/ assassin/ mage/ healer) + bosses. The (optional) multiplayer dungeons are made multiplayer by having two more opponents than a single player can handle in each group. Initial loading times can be horrific after an update.

Great deal, would go for it myself but don't want to get invested into another MMO when Legion is just around the corner.

Just to say I got this game from cd keys about a year and a half ago and my key was banned by zenimax in a mass wave of what they called stolen unactivated game keys. To CD keys credit I got a full refund though. I was then able to re activate my eso account using a key from another distributor.
Maybe cd keys have sorted the issue but just to warn you.
Really good game though

What does "Tamriel Unlimited" mean?
Mr_G13 to trustus
23 Jun 161#35
Tamerial is the name of the place in which the games take place, (the same as Britain for example)
Unlimited is because this game used to be a subscription (pay everymonth to play) just like WoW (World of Warcraft)
But now it is unlimited.....in Tamriel.....which is great....But if you do want to through away your money you can get ESO Plus which gives you extra stuff in game for a monthly fee....:laughing:
