It's followed the same price path as every PC game. You can get them all on preorder for under £25, even something huge The Division was £22 two months before launch. Then they go up as launch approaches and slowly start to drop back down. Doom was never £40, or £35 though, unless you're talking about Steam where it still is £40. It costs more now than it did two months ago.
It's also been very well reviewed, by critics and players. Sure it'll be under £20 in a few months, same with pretty much every game post launch.

Here is the proof why gaming is slowly dying, no innovation. Cause people want to spend less than a fiver for a game. How could game developers make money from it. Thanks God. I'm still ready to pay for £20-£30 mark. Yes I always wait few months for my favourite game go down below £30 mark

I meant a flop in holding value, about 2-4 DOOM deals a day on HUKD atm, it was 40, then 35, then 32, then 28, then 26....
It will certainly hit 20, then at 20 someone will do a discount to undercut and I'll pick it up for 15-18. this game is a flash in the pan remake of an old classic, it is not a flagship

Not played single yet but multiplayer was a big let down for me. Great graphics, nice weapons but nothing new at all. in fact just a direct copy of lots of other games (Cod mainly)
ie Double jumps, Achievements , melle one shot kill up close. To name a few.

i remember before the term FPS and before COD , these types of games were made was made they referred to these games as "Doom games":smiley:

We'll you've been doing it the wrong way round. Single player is praised all round and is what you should have been spending your time on.
The single player was done in house while the multiplayer was outsourced. Sort of explains things.

Cods double jumps do not feel the same as this, it's more restrictive as this is a arena shooter, not a FPS. Every Xbox game has had achievements since the dawn of time...

Yes, before the term first person shooter was coined these types of games were referred to as Doom clones, although Wolfenstein 3D came first but id quickly followed that up with Doom which popularised the genre. I was a bit late getting a PC so didn't get to play Doom until the early 2000s but during the '90s I had a few FPS games on the Amiga, including one called Gloom, which I only later realised was a play on the expression 'gloom and doom'.
Yeah that's just made me feel old as well. UT was one of my first PC games but my friends all played Q3 and I kept trying to convert them. As well as the multi function weapons I just loved the level design, gritty atmosphere and music/sound. There was just something about the Q3 engine that made everything seem a bit too shiny and plastic.

Far from a flop across the board - They pulled through with the campaign and beat the majority of expectations.
Sub 20 - Unlikely
Sub 15 - Not going to happen anytime soon - Why would anyone undercut other companies by that much for a game that is still selling well ?
Blu ray drives aren't particularly common on PC's, I'd say on gaming PC's a DVD drive isn't even that commonplace any more.

I've found that through later levels, it's better to drop back and 'snipe' to take advantage of the woeful line of sight that the bigger enemies have. Yes it's lame and kind of 'breaks' the run+gun gameplay, but at least you get time to soak up the detail and the stunning environments (PC). It's great, and it's popular so I reckon a fiver for it is a long way off. This isn't another 'Rage'.

Single player - First half is awesome fun. Second half every enemy is a boring bullet sponge. Overall, just ok.

Anyone who was put off by the beta's bad reception really needs to play the single player. It's stunning. Best shooter I've played in years.

I hated the beta and haven't touched the multiplayer, but the single player campaign is absolutely brilliant.

Ah, Q3 vs UT! I felt that UT's double jumps and multi-function weapons diluted a perfect experience with needless distractions. So definitely Q3 :-).

Doom 2016 is the best thing that's happened in the PC FPS genre for years. Anyone who grew up with Wolfenstein, Blake Stone, Doom and then Quake will recall that DOOM 2016 is exactly the same format as FPS were back in the day. Power ups to heal, no 'perks' or pretty boy outfits for your character. Simply run, gun, heal, run and gun, fight enemies that get harder as levels progress and culminate with mini boss or boss battles to progress. To compare this to COD is laughable - they are polar opposites...

DVD is far more popular but with Blu-ray they really should try to use it because it could store all of the game's installation files required.

Does the hard copy come with the game on the discs or is it just the Steam client? Made that mistake with The Phantom Pain.
