Well I just picked up an X5 Pro locally on Gumtree unused.
Has exactly the same problem as the X6 Pro with regards to sending Skype video messages...must be a glitch with the hardware I guess?
On the plus side, the video image did look better....

I think the 2G of RAM makes a very big difference in performance compared to older phones if you run a lot of apps.
I had no complaints about mine with regards to WiFi connections but I did find that the phone would show 2 bars of network signal when there really wasn't any useable signal.
The 5.5" screen is a real bonus when watching video and browsing the web but I find the phone is just slightly too big to use one handed.
I found a weird problem with the standard browser (I installed Firefox in the end) because if I clicked on a link and there was an app or suchlike available for that webpage it would always try to make me download the app (e.g. Tapatalk) or with Wikipedia there was no way to view the webpage - it kept trying to force me to download a Wikipedia app....
I ordered a TPU/gel style case from Aliexpress to protect it from any drops but it's still not arrived yet.
Hi all..I got the x6 this morning for father's day..how enterprising my kids are!..I've basically set up the phone as I like it and not had any connectivity issues so far...the store worked fine ..but for people used to having all the apps pre installed and being prompted through setup none of that happened with mine...I'm glad of this as nearly all the storage room was free..meaning very little bloatware . Put a three sim in it worked fine from the off ...speed wise its so much faster than gen 1 moto g..and the screen is 5.5 inches so it a joy to type and watch YouTube on for example....I'm actually going a bit short sighted so I recommended for anyone who's eyes are not great a 5.5 inch screen really helps. I'm trying to think of negative s..it strikes me as being quite light.and I can't imagine it being as robust as the moto g...I dropped mine all the time but its still going strong... Having said that I don't know many people who don't have a broken iPhone screen..the are hardly robust by any standards. Aesthetically it a similar shape to moto g. I'm down in watrose now blagging a free coffee and newspapers.. Gotta say their WiFi is lightning fast!...also meant to say data speeds seem good on three network.... I'm only on this a couple of hours so will drop back in here if any issue's develop but as things stand 40 quid odd for this is a steal....BFN!

Think first officer is trolling or seeking attention
I've broken a Samsung and was a expensive mistake
I also use a doogee for work
In the last year I broke 3 at work , my own fault due to my work
Cost me £60 to replace so £180 over the year so not fussed
I have a Samsung for home and use my doogee for work
The doogee is a great phone if I'm honest

Mine went back under RMA to the eBay vendor today for replacement. I used the free return postage offer from PayPal to do this - hopefully that works out!
The phone is fast enough and certainly responsive, in most instances but I had way too many issues with my example to feel content.
Occasional problems with the digitizer not recognising where I was touching the screen - this was a major problem when unlocking the phone or typing/swyping
GPS is horrendously inaccurate - it's too unreliable to actually follow the directions as the phone think you are off the road. That said as long as you ignore the misinformation you can get to your destination.
Camera is absolute crap compared to anything else I've used in the past 4 years or so.
Can't record skype video messages successfully 9 times out of 10 - you record, then it crashes or the video is garbled when sent.
Keeps losing selected Keyboard and reverting to standard setting
Occasional oily screen artifact - not connected with the screen protector, as far as I could tell - I had something similar with an HTC Flyer tablet many years ago.
Signal strength would often show 2 bars but in reality there was no signal available.
Battery life poor
Battery takes hours to recharge.
Call volume via handset earpiece was very low and often it appeared to change the way friends sounded...it was fine using a headset and mic.
If you find all of the above traits acceptable then this phone might be for you but did not live up to my expectations.

Hi gtd65, dont have the same experience here. There are two screen protectors on in mine and removing that first layer helped in touch response. However, yours sounds defective and glad you can do a PP return.
Hope your replacement gives different experience.
It has niggles in that swiping away entries in Recents kills the process. Seems to affect some apps but mileage may vary.

Reconfirm
1. 2 Screen protectors on. Take top one off else unusable.
2. GPS fast but will doublecheck usability in C London.
3. Agree camera is mediocre but it did a fab job photographing receipts.
4. Dont use Skype to confirm.
5. Losing selected Keyboard is related to the process dying when swiped away in Recents. Dont swipe em IMO.
6. Oily screen artifact. Possible you still have 2nd layer screen protector. Remove that.
7. Call volume improves greatly when you press a symbol switching on handsfree.
8. Battery life 1day heavy use to 2days light use. Battery charges fairly quickly. Doublecheck your USB cable is letting current through. I use Ampere app to doublecheck that it a good cable. Also, I sometimes find it trickle charging, switching on and off my Aukey seems to get it going full current. Doesnt happen after a while.
Hope this helps.

For people having problems with the screen.....mine came with a factory fitted screen protector. It wasn't very good and I think moisture used to cause these funny dummy presses. It works much better now that i have taken the protector off.
I think the specs said it has gorilla glass...well my screen is still fine and has no scratches.
I think it's a great phone for the money. Android 5 works really well on it. In particular, the system doesn't force close all the apps as soon as the display goes off......2 SIM cards and a micro SD makes it a great holiday phone.

What a load of rubbish , gf had this phone dooggee x5 pro for 8 months not one problem with it and she as dropped it quite a few times , daughter as the doogee x5 now that as been dropped a lot and still going strong after 6 months. Iphones are better in every way but a lot more money , I wouldn't want my daughter taking a £600 phone to school so the doogee x5 does exactly what it needs to do.

Is this the weird screen artifact somewhere towards the middle, like an oily splodge?
I've seen that a couple of times but it's never been much of a problem.
I find that the phone generally runs smoothly enough, possibly due to the 2GB of RAM?
I wouldn't buy another one, how about yourself?

I have x6 pro and it has issues like terrible camera, battery life not the best, keyboard is not great as when I try delete a letter it often just types llllll. Oh and the screen goes a bit funny in the middle (although think that's my own fault because I sat on it) on the other hand its almost stock android decent ram and I paid about £60 for it six months ago so if you don't need everything perfect in your life but do need to save money then its great. I imagine this phone to be the same
As for I phones not breaking first officer two of my friends have both spent over two hours each in Apple store queues waiting for repairs to there phones, in fact most people I know with I phones have problems with them.

I've got the X6 Pro, which I understand is the same phone but with a larger screen. I really can't understand the overly positive comments. It's functional, to some extent but I really couldn't recommend that anybody should buy one based on my one month of experience with it. There's too many negatives that cancel out the positives for me.

I bought one in January for my son to replace his iphone while it was being fixed as he is pretty clumsy. It cost $56 and I figured it would last til his iphone came back, 6 months on he is still using it as he prefers the screen size, and especially the memory so he can store all his videos, movies and music.
It's not perfect, it's nowhere near as good as a new iphone but it was a real bargain and I'd prefer him to smash this than an expensive phone.

14 Jun 16#35
I don't know why all you guys are coming out with these comments... Clearly attracted to cheap quality products..
This phone may be worth £35, but it will be trashed in a couple of weeks. Assuming, at best, it lasts 4 weeks, you will need to buy a new one about every month, which will all add up...
So in doing the sums, you will be spending 12 x £35 = £420 on this phone over a year..
The iPhone 6 will not break for a couple of years. Ok, so the initial cost is higher, say for argument sake £600... this works out to be £300/year, saving you £120/year when compared to this phone.
Even more COLD votes from me btw..
Anyway, I'll get me coat.
