Lowest price ever (unless a price error) Dell Vostro 3900 desktop, Core i5 4460 quadcore 3.2 GHz - 4 GB ram - 500 GB hard drive, intel HD graphics, DVD drive, HDMI and VGA ports. £233.98 plus £4.95 delivery from Laptops Direct.
The CPU retails for around £130 alone and you get Windows 7Pro installed, Win8.1Pro licence (with downgrade wrights to W7) and of course free upgrade to Win10 Pro if you upgrade before end of July.
Edit: postage added, £4.95
Watch out when adding to the basket, the crafty sods auto add Office 2013 for £299 and much worse.....they add McAfee virus infection for £19.- what an insult!

Funnily enough it's back in stock at £317.97 now they have cancelled everyone's orders.

Clearly selling stock they don't have, I thought this 'bait and switch' tactic was illegal in the EU. I ordered when it was in stock standard delivery, I have now had an email saying they have no stock and do I want to call them to discuss alternatives. They seem to have taken my money. I think this is fraud.

Really. Must admit I purchased one as soon as I saw your thread so was pretty quick. Took the

really got annoyed seeing this deal as I really wanted a windows 7 installed version and got the Ebuyer one for

I've had a gtx950 and another 4gb ram arrive today with the ssd and 2 monitors due tomorrow so I've ordered it while it's still in stock at Ebuyer. Bit more expensive though.

Just got an email cancelling Sunday's order ("part of your order is no longer available from our suppliers") three hours after a phone call confirming delivery address. I've a PSU, memory and hard drive arriving for this tomorrow.
"Our Sales Team will be in touch shortly to discuss alternatives. Our expert team will, wherever possible, be able to offer you a similar product to your first choice." - just smacks of a pathetic bait n' switch operation, given Dell - their ultimate supplier - has no problem shipping stock tomorrow

Even had an email Tuesday morning to say dispatched. Apparently that is automated though and that's when they requested the dispatch from their supplier.

Luckily for me, when I cancelled my Laptop Direct order back in Feb the Topcashback had gone through and despite my cancelling the order, the cashback went through a couple weeks later so at least I got some compensation
spannerzone
1 Jun 16#42
Indeed... I mean I posted the previous Laptops Direct deal 4 days ago at the higher price, they showed stock, then the price went back up and that deal ended, still showing they have stock, today it's down again to £238 and they show stock.
They're part of the 'buy it direct' group - I reckon they don't keep stock but get it from a wholesaler and their stock control is out of whack. Or they're just placing these deals to ramp up traffic and sales hoping to get you to buy other products in lieu of the one you actually wanted. That's a classic PC World approach, get you in with cheap deals that are rarely available and sell you what they want you to have.

1 Jun 16#41
No thanks for listing this . It Isn't not your fault this company has no idea of stock levels of products it lists as active online. They probably have stock and will put the product up again for a more expensive price.

I'm tired of companies doing this. isn't there anything you can do as they take the money right out of your bank account and take forever to return it. it happens to often. it's like a new marketing & sales strategy, rather than genuine mistakes. Surely those who made orders as long ago as Saturday have some rights. Why did it take so long to realise they don't have stock Sat-Wed afternoon. pfft

Darn it.... selling stuff they don't have?!
Back in February I ordered one from Laptops Direct, they showed stock but sent email saying a delay getting more stock, might be a few weeks, so i cancelled and went to Dabs and paid £360 eek
I wonder if this company just does this, has a bit of stock, takes loads of orders it can't deliver in the hope it gets customers to buy other items they do have in stock.
Sorry this deal hasn't been as epic as my usual ones

Just Seen this in my account:
Thank you for your order.
We regret to inform you that part of your order is no longer available from our suppliers. Occasionally we will experience a time delay on product information, whereby a manufacturer will no longer have stock and will discontinue a product before we are able to update our systems.
Our Sales Team will be in touch shortly to discuss alternatives. Our expert team will, wherever possible, be able to offer you a similar product to your first choice.
You are under no obligation to change your order and have the option of a full refund. We do however recommend speaking to our team first as we can normally offer an alternative to meet the same criteria and needs.
Our apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused. If you need any further assistance you can contact us on 0871 971 0005.
Kind Regards,

This would be fine with a 960 added for a gaming system. Ignore the above comment, where on earth do you get £50 for a 8GB ram? And although an SSD is nice it is not essential.
A 960 runs perfect on a half decent 350w PSU so should slot straight into this PC and way you go, one nice little cheap gaming system. You can pick up a cheap 240GB SSD to make things faster if you wish, add another 4GB ram for a tenner, and say £35 for an SSD and away you go.

Not really, You'll also need 8GB or ram @£50 and a 480GB SSD @£80
Move the 500GB drive as a second drive for storage. Or add a bigger HDD.
It would do as a mid-range gaming system then.
