Repost of the expired deal posted by Rikishi last weekend. Back in stock at £239.99 instead of £229.99. Still a cracking deal with around 30% off the RRP and cheaper than the model down from this.

Love my u2515h, personally, I find 1440p on this monitor to be just right, Have used it at lower resolution with my laptop plugged in also and that was fine too, don't think I would have been happy with 1440p on a 27".
Wouldn't mind another, what's the difference this and u2515h?

Eww. You know one of the things I did when seeing this deal was go to the likes of Calumet and WEX to see their prices and reviews. I was a bit surprised to see no Dell monitors. Wonder if this issue you have had is more commonplace / Dell happy to say substandard (If Ballicom really did send it to them) and hence being dropped from photo/video sites.

I had mine come from the first offer and there was a bit of a shift in colour across the screen and some dodgy backlight bleed, sent it back to Ballicom who sent it to Dell who said it's fine (even though it looks like this: http://i.imgur.com/tnugAkU.jpg). Credit to Ballicom though, got a call offering a replacement or refund from them which is so much less hassle than I was worrying it would be.

Panel and performance etc should identical. This has built in switching for 2 PCs (effectively a KVM).

Does anyone know how to enable the uniformity compensation option, always seems to be greyed out whatever mode I'm in? Thanks

25" is absolutely perfect at 1440p, much better than 27". The pixel density is about 117ppi and easily readable at 100% scaling.
Anyone who says 27" minimum needs glasses (if they don't already wear them)

Nope, the 27" is 109ppi, the 24" is 92ppi. Text at 109 is painfully small and gives me headaches, the 92 doesn't. The 27" is sharper, that's why gamers use them.

1440p at 27" is too high for many people, it makes text and applications too small. I run my desktop at 1080 to make it usable, and game at 1440. 25" would be too high for most people, the same as 4K is.

Thanks xela333. It was you who mentioned getting a low power GPU. I looked on Scan and was totally discombobulated by all the different categories. Hopefully now I can look again and have a clue what I'm looking for. LOL I'm rubbish with technology.

Looks like you need an AMD 250X or an Nvidia 750 at the least. probs around £70. Just make sure it has displayport

12 Jun 161#32
It's the pcie 3 slot that a graphics card would use. As long as you get a card with a displayport connection, you should be fine.

Awesome it looks really clear! I almost bought the UP2516D after seeing that but after measuring up i've realised its only 1" wider than my U2312HMs so i'm not sure it would be big enough for my needs. I'm going to hold out a while longer for a 27" and hope they drop a bit in price.

This sounds good for Photoshop and video use. However someone on here said I could run a 4K screen if I got a low power GPU. Not read anything about PCs since I built my PC so I'm unsure what I'm looking for so...can anyone say what slot I'm looking to use for a low power GPU that will run a 4K screen. No gaming needs.

I just plugged a PS3 into mine and confirm it DOES stretch to full screen (upscale).
I cannot see how to make it show as 1080P with borders 1:1 pixel size so this may not suit you. I will say however that the upscaling actually looks very good indeed! I'm not normally a fan of this but find this quite acceptable indeed.

12 Jun 16#27
Thanks i was thinking 1080p would have to be scaled up to fit the screen but if it just displays at 1080p then i guess there will be nothing to worry about. Now all i have to decide is between this 25" and the 27". I just returned a BenQ 1080p 27" (dead pixel) and i liked the size, i'm now back on my old ultrasharps 3 x 22" at 1080p and i'm finding it hard going back, everything is so tiny. I'm worried 25" wouldnt be big enough for me now even more so with it being 2k. Other than the obvious 2" screen size and price how does the UP2516D compare to the UP2716D.

12 Jun 16#26
1440p at 27" is pretty much the same pixel size as 1080p on a 24", so nothing is sharper, you just literally have more screen real estate.
At 25", the PPI will be improved, so not only is the screen slightly bigger than a 24", it is also much sharper. Need decent grunt though, at least a 980/1070 to play things on high.

I was for a while, but realised that 27" is still quite a premium and decided to go for this panel even though it's slightly smaller simply because it's a fantastic screen. A Dell Ultrasharp in 27" will be still be a premium for a while I expect (hope!).

Im looking for a 27" monitor with 1440.
Im not a gamer so not interested in any mega quick panel but i don't really want to pay anything like £200+.
Any advice from you guys please?

12 Jun 162#20
Nonsense, to me 1080P at 27" is ugly and visibly blocky, 1440P at 27" is fine, but 1440P at 25" looks perfect without scaling.
wacko911
12 Jun 16#19
For there to be no scaling then you would have a black border round the 1080p screen of 1440-1080/2 pixels
drkdeath5000
11 Jun 161#12
How does this look on consoles at 1080p, presumably it gets upscaled to 2k so some picture quality is lost? I'm looking for something that i can do my colour sensitive work on aswell as game on both PC and PS4.
sealthard to drkdeath5000
12 Jun 16#18
AFAIK there would be no upscaling, you would only see 1080p. I believe monitors only display whatever there input resolution is, up to the maximum resolution for that monitor, in this case 2k. If the input device is 1080p, then the monitor shows 1080p, not a downscaled or upscaled version, simply 1080p.
You can upscale on an input device, but it requires processing, which I do not think a display device would handle.

Saw this last time if was posted and some of the comments made me question if this is a big enough screen for 1440p. Am I wrong in thinking that? I want to make the jump to 1440p when there's more GTX 1080 cards on the market
