If you register the watch with Citizen you get an extra year warranty. I did this with my wife's Eco watch in April.

You will have to set it to one of the 26 countries, and then the timekeeping will alter, you do not have to disturb the timekeeping itself.
Yes very nice indeed. I actually posted this watch 2 months ago for £235 @ Goldsmiths, it sold out quick. The link below shows the deal, and though the image has gone the watch can be seen in the video in post 2. Clicky

Both beautiful watches, though I think I'd need to start weight lifting to for the watches to look in proportion on my wrist.
Though if I do start some light training I could buy these watches as a reward
Can't imagine what they we're smoking when they thought up that. Extensive building is what is required and reductions on immigration.
Who pays for the discount that presumably a right to buy would need to offer on the market price? If you price out amateur landlords then you're be left just dealing with big corporations...

I think there are lume dots, just out from the markers themselves, immediately below the cities on the dial in line with the second indicators.

I have owned this for about 3 years (got it on Amazon) and it's my everyday watch.
Glass still unmarked even though it's had a few knocks and occasional drop. Bracelet has a few scratches and might need a polish.
Never missed a beat and always accurate - always in sync with railway departure boards to the second.
Only the hour and minute hands are luminous and not very much at that - a very thin luminous strip in the middle of each hand. Harder still to read in the dark as the rest of the screen is pitch black.
Used it on many travels and it does not auto adjust when in another time zone - tried in USA, Thailand and France Went through the rather complicated manual but gave up after many attempts to get feature to work - that might just be me showing how thick I am though:D.
Got it's flaws but I like it.

Yeah ignore me - tygar2 confirms they're not above and I can see that on closer inspection. I thought it was similar to my own Ec-drive.

Unless you move to another time zone, like certain parts of Spain where the UK signal that does the timing checks will still be king.

Why would anyone need a perfectly correct watch?
Tyranicus66
13 Jun 16#33
Yes because a Fitbit has all the cache of a fine timepiece. Its probably why all the most successful businessman aspire to own one...or not.
Tyranicus66
13 Jun 161#34
They are essentially the same just a different style preference.
realbernie
13 Jun 16#35
Er, that would be all the older unsuccessful businessmen, because the successful ones don't aspire to anything they already own it. So less than 50% of the entire unsuccessful businessperson population, incidentally

Your trying to be cute after making a stupid sweeping statement.
At last estimate Traditional watches still outsell smart watches by 150 : 1. Sure smart watches are getting better all the time but the watch is about as far from dead as its possible to be (1.2billion units sold annually!)
Perhaps you can pass that tatty plastic fad on your wrist onto your grandkids. Oh that's right, it wont last more than a year or two....
Good watches, much like books will always have a place in this world even if their function has been superseded.

Not sure exactly what you mean but the watch uses the transmitter in Germany.
DubDriver
14 Jun 16#40
You mean vs the Amazon/H Samual one? The latter has an alarm and indicator to show which countries signal it is receiving.
soldierboy001
14 Jun 16#41
When my brother in law visited me with his it would not log onto the German transmitter, just stayed onto the UK one whatever he tried.
Rickardo
14 Jun 16#42
As far as I'm aware there is only 1 signal now for Europe and it is transmitted from Frankfurt. You set the time zone on the watch itself, so the watch just adds our subtracts the relevant hours etc.
DubDriver to Rickardo
14 Jun 16#50
The location and number of transmitters that these Citizen watches can use varies from model to model, but I've never yet seen one that uses the UK transmitter.
I already posted a link to the manual for this watch, pages 36-38 show the transmitters that the watch is cable of receiving. The UK is not one one them.
Rickardo
14 Jun 16#43
Only the GPS ones auto adjust. This will receive a signal for the date and time (around 2am) in the likes of USA, but if your watch is still set to London, that's what will display (accurately!). On mine (different model that also has an alarm), I pull out the crown one click and then rotate and the second hand will be indicating the time zone as per the city codes on the dial.
soldierboy001
14 Jun 16#44
There are 2 transmitters in Europe one in Anthorn UK and one in Hessen Germany. Just looked it up to double check.
Rickardo
14 Jun 16#45
Ok, but I believe citizen only use the Germany one.

14 Jun 16#46
You are determined to be right aren't you. Meet your kind in the bar every time I visit.
Rickardo
14 Jun 16#47
Not determined, I just remember reading it in my watch's manual. Not sure why you're so uppity about it, you're the one who looked up to check the transmitters in Europe!
soldierboy001
14 Jun 16#48
From the Casio Web site, Casio watches are able to receive the signal from all six transmitters around the world. UK and Germany are 2 of those transmitters. So if you saw that in your manual you probably have a Chines knock off.
I ain't getting uppity, I just trying to steer you in the right direction a course you seem to refuse to follow.

This is a Citizen thread and from the Citizen website, as per my own manual:
I don't profess to being an expert, just own a similar model watch to this and take an interest. Not sure why you can't handle a little discussion without resorting to sneering remarks?
soldierboy001
14 Jun 16#51
I'm afraid I am not clever enough to do these link things but the Anthorn was definitely shown on the web site I looked at but on reflection I am not sure it was maybe the Casio Site, but can't see why the Citizen dismisses the UK site on their maps. Surly they are one and the same type of product and UK and Europe time are different by one hour. My friend has a wall clock of this type and it set itself to UK time automatically when she first set it up and also when she had to change a battery.
DubDriver
15 Jun 16#52
Nobody except Citizen know for sure why they don't do the UK transmitter though, if watch forums are anything to go by, owners have their own entertaining theories. In practice there doesn't seem to be many performance issues reported because of it.

By the way, I notice that only the hands have luminous tips, i.e. no lume markings on the face.
