"Chromecast is a thumb-sized media streaming device that plugs into the HDMI port on your TV. Set it up with a simple mobile app, then send your favourite Wuaki.tv movies and more to your TV using your smartphone, tablet or computer."
...someone's got some massive thumbs if they're the size of a Chromecast! ;)
The entertainment pass will appear in the Chromecasts offers once set up. (It's a Google offer) Link in 1st post.

one-off payment. they then bombard you with offers and new releases to your email address.
it's a way of getting a cheap Chromecast. Although I don't really think it's "all that".
Much prefer the Chromecast Audio dongle and get much much more use out of that.

I didn't realise that these were part of the Rakuten Group, which is the company that own play.com.
Can anyone tell me, if I buy this, do I have to use the Wuaki app to watch the file, or is it an Ultra-Violet style, where you redeem with a code? I hate having my films saved all over the place!

Pretty sure you have to use their app (iOS and Android). They have an app for Xbox consoles and some TVs and set top boxes.

So Chromecast....... can you use it like an android player? Put apps on? Or is it purlely a casting thing to mimic the screen of a phone?

They're really good, great functionality, no you don't store apps on them, so when you're using an app which has the cast feature such as youtube, wuaki, nowtv, twitch etc - you select the cast icon and then instead of it coming to your phone/tablet it is going directly to the chromecast instead. Your phone/tablet can then be used like a remote control for what's happening on your tv. You can also do screen mirroring but not sure you get audio with it.

It looks like The Intern comes with UV rights but not many films do with Wuaki so you could watch it via other apps like talktalk store (Blinkbox) and Sainsburys Entertainment.
does anything free comes with this apart from the googlechrome for 22.99?
i have paid in the morning but all i got is that they will despatch the googlechrome soon.

The film should be in your Wuaki account ready to play. Better off going to Google offers via the Chromecast when you get it for the now tv offer

is the google offer different to this offer?

Screen mirroring does cast audio aswell. It's a battery hog though, so best screen cast with a charger plugged in.

Have they released an update yet where you can sync audio and Chromecasts?

How is this for watching movies etc from your PC? I'm sick of messing around with HDMI cables to watch game of thrones. Wifi is really good in my home

straight forward, you can cast anything to your telly from a chrome browser, I have been happily using it for a couple of years

How can you keep track of your order of the Chromecast? All I saw is 'Chromecast will be sent out soon'....

Technically as the Chromecast is free it doesn't show on any orders. It will turn up though, has been asked many times in previous deals

If you've got the video files on your PC then streaming to the TV is easy. You need an app like Videostream, but it will be flawless.

I use Mobdro on my phone and cast it to the Chromecast. Works quiet well. For films/tv shows on demand I use Cinemabox. Much better than Showbox which has become crap of late. Anyone else have any good recommendations for casting to the Chromebox?
