Popped into my local Tesco at Seacroft earlier today and saw this deal. No idea if it's nice, but the price appealed to me... said reduced from £12.99 to £3.25 on a yellow reduced to clear sign. I'm sure the wine boffs will call it substandard, but I thought it was a good deal

Not substandard, all the El Pinsapo rioja's are good, £3.25 for the reserva is a fantastic price. Good Rioja.
Edit: cannot see any El Pinsapo rioja on the Tesco wine by the case pages, I've had it delivered in the past on special.

Well the 2012 one is reduced too.. That's £2.79. They have a few bottles of that at the Northwich store marked at £5.50 or something, and a couple of the 2009 left (marked at £6.50 scanning £3.25)..

Just been to my local Tesco Metro and they had Lionsgate Sauvignon Blanc reduced to clear to £2.79. It's normally £10 but often a fiver.

I saw this yesterday, & didn't post it because I thought it might be a goose chase. I got 4 bottle of Pinsapo, but the rest was swill (according to wot wine) & the review of one bottle said to choose a different one it was so bad !
You mean it's normally a fiver but from time to time they hike the price to £10 so they can pretend it's half price.

Paid £5.50 in November. Worth £5.50 so a steal at £3.25. I'm not too much of a wine snob though. Will be on the lookout tomorrow when I do my shopping :smiley::smile:
