I Bought 20 Decking Boards which cost just £4 each at B&Q today & when i got to the checkout it says £10 off for buying 20 or more so cost me £70 instead of £80 so was quite pleased as these are the 2400mm ( nearly 8 foot ) long ones , not Premium boards but good enough for me

My local threatened to call the police when I asked, "Can I save £10 if I get 20 decked planks?".
Apparently they thought I meant staff, since they are all as thick as 2 short planks.

One every 40cm as a minimum, preferably more.

I've used 4"x2" lengths of wood for my frame with cross members at 2' foot apart and its a good solid decking now its done can take alot of weight i'm quite happy with it as its a first for me :sunglasses:

25mm is a bit thin. Make sure you use lots of cross members in your base.
