Since when was a package deal ever cheaper?
kamenitzabrit
22 Jun 163#45
No you won't - just whittle down your bulging suitcase using common sense, and it's easy to go hand luggage only to a hot country for a longer period.
It can take as little as a couple of hours for a pair of jeans to dry in many places, and tops can take an hour, so travel light and be prepared to give stuff a quick wash/rinse - it's also possible to buy an extra couple of bits dirt cheap in some countries, and dump them before coming home.
Another factor is that for those who are going where they might have a holiday home, or stay with relatives, basic versatile clothing can be left each trip to build up a small wardrobe for every visit...... which is exactly what we've done so as to save money on hold luggage, and also get out of the airport quicker than those who might have to wait an extra hour or more for their luggage.

but it's a good deal just because it's not what you're looking for doesn't make it a bad deal no one has ever said the deals on hot uk deals are for everyone they are just good deals. God stop being negative and looking for bad points that do not exist

Who said they can? Also you leave, you will have a poor deal from uk. No sterling for sure. As most of the travel companies work in £, you would incur extra cost for currency exchange.

Yes but not everybody has the knowledge or means of finding a resort hoppa and don't forget that is per person. Just because you know doesn't mean others do. A big word is may.
But lets use common sense here. Do they want our business? Are they going to turn us away, or inflate prices because we chose to leave? I doubt it some how. Thoe if we do, it applies to them, coming to here. But remember they are still in a bad situation, compared to how we was.

resort hopa wont break the bank. Cost less than £10- 14 i would estimate.
But if you land at alicante for instance, you can use a public bus for 8 euro per way.

22 Jun 16#54
What has that got to do with, what i said? The majority of us, have not. So your comment is not applicable!
As for brexit. Do you really think they put a cost on things? Then they would drive us away to some where else.
soldierboy001 to leeparsons
22 Jun 16#57
Do you not read or listen to the news? Nothing much will happen for at least 2 years except that if we get a Brexit result the value of the pound may drop and this could add another 10 to 20 % to the cost of your holiday when you get there and may,and may, add to the cost of flights into Europe.

I am looking at a cost point of view, for myself. If i didn't need luggage, or had one of those flight coat. Then i would say this is great deal. But doing the math. You probabaly end up costing more, than a package holiday. I all I am saying.

Have you forgotten that many Brits have holiday homes near many of these destinations, so can be inside their own place before their fellow passengers collect luggage from the carousel ?
Also, I know of several foreign workers who use these late deals to go back home for a quick family visit.
Depending on Brexit results, a lot of this might change before next year ?

22 Jun 162#46
Are you not able to click a couple of boxes for yourself - if you go to the website, there are actually so many flights still available that there would have to be a post for each airport's deals.
I tried first looking for any flights to my favourite destinations, so I could see if it was worth travelling to a different airport, then reset to see what destinations were available from my nearest airport in case somewhere new was so cheap as to be worth a try.
I thought the whole idea of posting a deal like this is to let us know there's a variety of flights on offer so we can then go to the website and use our own criteria...... if you need someone to do all the work for you then perhaps visit a travel agent's shop and talk to the staff ?

On a serious note, its worth checking package deals.
I just booked a 6 day trip with BA and it was £200 cheaper (for two plus a toddler <2) to book through BA holidays (Flight + Car). That included checked bags, although I didn't need them for such a short trip as BA's carry on allowance is very good. I didn't really need the car either, but what the hell :/
Even the cheapest alternative was £80 more and that was Ryan Air, far less convenient dept airport and I'd have to fly Ryan Air :disappointed:

so true. i booked a trip for other half 30th and saw cheap flights to copenhagen was super amp'd as though it would be a nice different city bearing in mind it was a 3 night break, then looked into hotels cheapest I could find was a hostel with single beds (dorms) and shared bathroom and that was around 500 for just 3 nights.
such a pity as would be interesting city to visit but accomodation prices are just ridiculous

Just to add, you can quite reasonably holiday with 5kg hand baggage though that is getting a bit tight, makes you think about what you really need. Going somewhere hot just take 3 t shirts and wash one every morning, takes no time at all. 7kg allowance is pretty easy especially if you can just carry a few of the heavier things in your pockets on the plane.

Or travel wearing all the clothes you intend to use on holiday. We typically manage (often easily) with carry on though 5Kg is pushing it(7Kg for Premium seated passengers). Off to Florida with family (2 adults and 2 kids) this year with only one (20Kg) case in hold (it's £60 for that).

Just don't forget it's a 5kg cabin baggage limit with Thomson. So you'll have to pay the extra £40 for hold luggage if you are going on a 7-14 day holiday.
