I have the 4Gb and paid £250 from Very. This could be the higher spec version but it's not in the specs.

Awesome little machines, I have the T100 Chi and think it's a beautifully-built bit of hardware; very rare to get nice metal chassis at this kind of price for either T100 or T300 - the Lenovo Yoga 3 equivalent is plastic.

I'm very tempted by this, possibly stupid question, but would this get the free windows 10 upgrade? or is it too late now?

i bought the Very deal as well, great machines, only critic i can have is the bluetooth keyboard is sometimes slow to 'wakeup' and reconnect to the device. and that maybe so extra ports could have been built into he keyboard but then it would have to be something other than a bluetooth keyboard

Is this enough memory to store photos, music and videos?
DatAlbino
7 Jun 161#10
Its enough for a decent amount, 128GB, altho tbh I feel like it would be a waste to fill an SSD with photos, why not use a microSD for your photos and use your faster SSD for your OS, and other applications?

7 Jun 16#11
Yep!, STILL possible for FREE Windows 10 upgrade until the end of July 2016!.
So, knock yourself out ('figuratively speaking' that is?, lol). :-)

I think it makes sense, you can pick up a Sandisk 64GB microSD for about 10-12 quid, way cheaper than an external hard drive, which you don't really need unless you have 100GB+ of photos to store (thats alooooot of photos haha) and way smarter than taking up your whole SSD, which can instead be used to make this PC run faster
DatAlbino
7 Jun 16#15
Haha, I'll help with whatever you ask  no problem dude, just pick up a microSD and plug it into this bad boy, you're good to go

Imo £120 more for just 4Gb extra RAM isn't worth it, if you can get the 4gb version for around that then just do that, 8GB is only needed for high end gaming and then not even much
However for this deal itself, great saving, hot all the way, but only if you're gonna utilise the extra RAM and power for the extra $$$

If only this was on eBuyer's eBay store... I've got a 15% voucher to use!
Yeah. Don't worry. Windows will make VERY sure it lets you know you can get a free upgrade.
Avoiding it if you don't want it may be a little trickier .....
(Closing the stupid popup - on the one one tablet I have still running 8.1 - via the task bar still activated it! It's borderline malware now. I removed it on all my other Windows devices but keep forgetting to do so on the tablet ...)
Good price on this. Sounds like a nice piece of kit.

If you don't list your familiar workloads how can anyone advise you sensibly? You need to look at your current CPU and how it performs currently by viewing its resource monitoring charts. But the one word answer to your question is, no. However I used this processor daily for office work, it is a wonder of a processor, no fan noise and I run VMWare too.

I bought the Very one also but i wouldn't be paying an extra £130.00 or so for an extra 4gb ram. Memory is cheap these days and I know it should have a slightly quicker processor according to Asus but........this is nowhere near as good a deal as the Very one. In case ebuyer have the spec wrong also it doesn't have a 5mp rear camera. It just has a webcam. The only downside of the laptop is the micro USB 3 port. I also question it's transfer speed with my sandisk ultra. Speeds are slower than USB 2. Write speed is terrible. I will check with another drive. Other than that it's all very very nice but at £380 not nice enough for me.
I read the ebuyer spec and apart from the 8gb model should have the slightly faster processor it seems to be correct.

Can you upgrade the memory in this?
Would you would say this is more inferior to the very deal?

7 Jun 16#30
does this run the full desktop version of windows?
Smartguy1
7 Jun 16#31
It cannot be inferior if it has a slightly better spec but taking the price into account with everything being the same, with exception to the ram and processor, for me the Very deal was much superior especially when all who bought from Very on BNPL will receive a £24.99 credit to their account by the end of June. £379.98 compared with £224.99 for the same screen, keyboard etc is a no brainer. I guess people voting hot have looked at the rrp and weren't aware of the Very deal for a very similar model.

Haha, no it isn't but like with all of these deals there comes a point where a price gets really low. It then goes back up and then comes back down again. Ebuyer, Currys / PC World never seem to offer the rock bottom deals that Very and JL and even Tesco do. They lag behind with the likes of Argos. All laptops will reach a low point when they are becoming obsolete. The 300chi is a 2015 model and we are nearly half the way through 2016. I like my t300. It's a good laptop. Not perfect but this particular model is too expensive in my opinion. The Lenovo Yoga 700 was a far better deal a couple of weeks ago for £320/£330. Can't remember the exact cost. 1" smaller admittedly but a good spec for less money.
Whilst writing this the ebuyer deal has already expired. Keep looking and you will get something similar for less money. I tune into hotdeals twice a day if I'm looking for something and that's how I got my bargain t300.

Only twice a day? I live on here  I'm always on the look for bargain tech the best so far has to be the Linx 10 for £29.99.

Yes, my employer doesn't like me abusing the internet in works time so lunchtime is the first time and then when I get home is the second time. The second stint usually lasts from me eating my tea to going to bed though.

Links 10 at that price was cheap. I missed that one. That would have been handy as a spare tab for the car just for my car diagnostics units. I bought a Miix 3 for that but soon ran out of space so bought the t300 with a view to getting rid of the miix 3 but then thought do I really want to be taking something as expensive as the t300 out to the car with risk of scratching it or worse. At £29.99 for the linx it wouldn't matter.
Sp0oner
8 Jun 16#39
I wish I had the Miix 3 for the higher res screen and better keyboard. The only thing that stopped me pulling the trigger on this deal yesterday was the bluetooth keyboard as I like the tablet to dock with the keyboard and power it like the Linx does. But the decent cpu/ssd/ram/screen size was very appealing.
Just had a look at the Dell Venue Pros on Dell Outlet and they don't compare to the Asus.
I hadn't used my Linx for a while until yesterday as I sat in the garden for hours and was on it constantly and remembered just how good Windows tablets are. I could do with better battery life than the Linx offers too.
