I'm sure I heard my wife saying she wanted a one carrot ring.
But I bought her this instead.

I've seen 5kg bags of onions like this in Farmfoods, pretty sure they were £1.50, never bought so can't comment on the quality though.

They were OK because they were packed correctly, but they were a bit on the small side though.

It says 8+ days life on the website. Now we all know that's a lie, but still- how do they think people will get through 5kg of onions in a week? I wouldn't want to live downwind of that house!

Lots of Asian / Far Eastern dishes require onions..
Lots of these communities go through 5kg in days

Cheaper in most independent grocers / supermarkets, 4kg bags from £1 to £1..39 depending on season, usually English or Dutch in origin

I would rather buy from local shops. The pice is similar anyway. It always good to support local businesses

I used to buy loads of these bags when I was a student. A large portion of the onions will be rotten/bad, but they are so cheap that even with that considered there are enough good ones to make it well worth the value.

Are they red or white

Same as the Farmfoods ones but you do get a few rotten ones and quite a few sprout too.

I agree that the pack offers great value, but the onions are so small and annoying, you need to cut about four or five onions to get about the same amount you would get from one averaged sized onion. You also find a lot of rotten ones in the pack.
