Agree that if you have decent knives this will ruin the blade but on a cheap knife it works ok if all you want to do is get an edge back. The problem is the amount of metal this removes, use it regularly and a chefs knife will end up the same shape as a filleting knife!

Out of stock. Some things never change with Asda/Tesco/Sainsbury's deals etc etc etc

Seems like a good deal for a dodgy product based on previous comments; does anyone have any recommendations for a better method for sharpening more expensive knives?

I use a whetstone with an angle guide for a couple of Global knives and have one of the ceramic wheel type for everything else - stick in knife sharpener on Amazon, there's loads of them.
To keep an edge, periodically run your knives down a decent sharpening steel a couple of times. Again, loads on Amazon etc both steel and ceramic. I've never used a ceramic one, the steel I have is about 30yrs old and still does the business.

Lansky four rod the box. About £20. Will last forever. Takes a couple of minutes.
Last time this deal was on , I asked at Asda store and they had never heard of the product line and thought it was exclusive Wed based. Every time it has been offered on here , the offer then expires immediately . Do Asda only have two in stock every three months ?

These are great for sharpening your £2.99 knives but if you use professional knives costing a small fortune this knife sharpener will butcher them.
Thankfully my knives are the home bargain types that cost £2.99 so happy days..

I've had one of these for a while and love it.
I'm guessing people with expensive knifes may not like these, but it's great for my normal knives.

These are completely crap and should not be used on any knife.
Spot on, these should not be used by any professional knives at all, they totally ruin your knife.
Even on the cheap knives you will end up with a knife which is like a saw
Opening post
£10.98 on Amazon, so a good saving.

You can usually get them for about £35
