It's not bad, 2.7Ghz of power is a hell of a lot for a tablet, 2 dual core CPUs is nothing to sniff at, its not one CPU, it's 2
1GB RAM is standard for most tablets, agreed, but you don't get that many above that, only a handful, many have 1GB, which is enough for a tablet considering most budget laptops have 2GB
2MP camera isn't great, but tablets usually have ok cameras, not good ones, and besides most webcams are sometimes below 1MP, could be worse
And I see absolutely no issue with 16GB, people are too greedy with space, it also comes with unlimited Amazon cloud storage so there really shouldn't be any storage issues
It's most certainly a step up from the only 20 quid cheaper Fire 7, which boasts, aside from a slightly larger screen, worse specs across the board

You're both wrong. You can't add the cores together to make 2.7GHz, if this is used in the marketing it's entirely untrue. This is not how multicore CPUs work, you can never add up the GHz of each individual core. They're separate entities and no software scales 100%. Complete BS.

At 6 inches, there's no much different between this and a phablet really. (obviously minus the price) Good deal for the price don't get me wrong but not sure subjectively I would ever buy a tablets less than 8 inch for the sheet fact I would like some differentiation between tablet and phone screen size and 0.5-1.5 inch difference is not enough

I spose Amazon were trying to make a literally handheld tablet, that you could carry around like a big phone, I agree, I have a 8.3'' Hudl 2 and my old Nexus 7 just didn't cut it for me
Having said that, I watch videos on my 5.5'' LG G3 all the time and I'm not bothered then, so I'm sure a 6'' tab is big enough for some, if not many

I have one of these. It fits in my jacket pocket but a 7 inch tablet doesn't. It has significantly more screen space than my 5 inch phone and I don't want a bigger phone.
The screen is very nice.

I have one also in blue. It's very pocketable and its my tablet of choice while travelling. £69.99 seems a really good bargain.
It should be noted that today's deal is Magenta only, other colours are £99

Thanks, I reposted as since it went up and back down, warrants another deal, also since its only one colour too ^^
This tab gets less credit than its due imo

You just need that final 7 degrees of heat to reach the front page, and then it will get hot!

"Free, unlimited cloud storage - For all Amazon content and photos taken with your Fire devices" - so not quite "unlimited storage"

Just pointing out that "unlimited Amazon cloud storage" (as quoted by you) doesn't mean "unlimited cloud storage".

Size is my issue with this - my phone is 5.5", so this must be more like a phablet than a tablet?
