Used mine for the first time yesterday and thought I'd report back and thank iluvsafc and DJ Splitz again as I have to say i'm extremely happy!
So, machine seems very solid and well built (only a small amount of fairly solid plastic in places you'd expect it!). The assembly instructions are pretty awful and really need some attention from someone but despite that it's reasonably easy to put together. I bought my oil from Toolstation for just £4.80. Total assembly and fuelling took a little over 30mins, but most of that was due to needing to read the instructions several times!
I'm ashamed to say that much of my lawn hadn't had a proper cut this year (new house, and new baby and broken mower so I have good reasons) but despite that this mower tackled it with ease, the only issue being the number of times I had to empty the collection bin. It is a noisy machine and made a lot of smoke when first started but both are to be expected. In use it worked brilliantly, pulled nicely and cut really well and mowing my average sized lawn took less time with it than it took me to assemble the machine.
So in summary this is probably one of my best buys from HUKD and if you can pick one up for £89, or even £99 as I did, then you've done extremely well.

Picked the last one up from Aldi Blyth, northumberland after checking 3 other closer branches for stock. Kind store assistant at palmers vile branch checked availability at other stores in the area and pointed me to blyth or cow gate. Still advertised at 179.99 in store, but was 89.99 at the till.
Great quality mower for £90.
Set up out of the box in 20 mins. Started first pull out of the box. Started first pull after each grass box empty. Great quality cut and no effort with self drive system and powerful motor, which didn't change tone through long grass.

All store managers have the ability to reduce excess stock such as best buys..
It's typically 20-30% off on first reduction and then 50% off (of original price) on second reduction.
Like other stores that do mark downs, like Asda, they will do multiple mark downs to clear stock quickly. (e.g. in Aldi's case, go straight to 50% off)

Ok for all you doubters out there.....I can't believe I have to explain myself....... me and my wife are are celebrating our anniversary and spent a couple nights in the lakes, I popped into aldi to buy some calla lolly lilly plants and noticed that most of the garden stuff had been reduced but the lawnmowers didn't have a reduced price. I asked the guy to check the price and it came up as 89.99 so I grabbed one of 3 left. We returned back to the hotel and I rang a mate back hame (Sunderland hence iluvsafc so no I don't work in Cockermouth aldi ya hat) as he was also looking for one. So he asked me to pick one up him. I went back today hence my last post, still there meaning still in the area, and there were still 2 left. I picked one up for my mate leaving one left in stock. So this is a genuine deal, I'll try and work out how to post the receipt.

I picked one up this morning for 89.99

After that, you need to call their warranty line, and their supplier will either repair or replace the item
i.e. it doesn't matter whether or not Aldi have any more stock.

I watched the price of these in the nearest Aldi (Cardiff) last year, they went from 179 to 149 (about 8 in stock), then 129 (about 4 in stock), then 99 - I bought one at 99. If they are selling at the higher price they don't discount stock.
The Self propelled is a bit naff, and after the first couple of mows I've not even bothered with it.
The rope pull spring broke after a few months, apparently Briggs and Stratton have redesigned this as I couldn't get an exact replacement (I could have returned under warranty, but there's none in stock to replace with) it cost me £20 inc parts/labour at local mower repairs.
Next time it breaks within the 3 year warranty I'll return it and hope they have something in stock, or the grass will stop growing.

Because heat here is often meaningless.
I seriously wonder if the supermarket chains haven't taken up the idea of seeding a couple of stores with almost ridiculously good bargains to send thousands of lemmings to their stores where they might buy something else.

There are 2 left in the Brierley Hill Aldi (Birmingham/Dudley) so I would be super quick in picking one up. Call the customer services and ask them to call the store. If you're lucky, u can ask them to hold one for you like I did.
By the way, price shows as 149.99 on offer but £99 at the till so I guess that's why they're still left in that store.
