Aldi Ashfield Farm 21 day matured beef roasting joints on offer instore. Cheaper than the other major supermarkets whose roasting joints are also not 21 day matured.
Topside, silverside and top rump cuts available. Got my 3 in the picture for my next batch of biltong - get in!

People buy free range or organic poultry and eggs yet find it okay to eat none organic or free range meat people please think about the animal you eat before buying
I will only buy organic or free range at least you know they are looked after before you eat

Not sure but the the fact that the main label is also priced at £4.99 (i.e - was marked down at time of production rather than instore) make me think it is nationwide.

Are the roasts long enough for biltong strips OP ? Good price.
I cut the strips "with the grain" so am typically slicing the pictured joints longways so most strips are between 20 - 30 cm and I like it about 2 cm thick max. Sometimes strips are shorter as I seperate joint where I encounter connecting tissue and the grain changes direction.
the pictured 3 joints weighed about 3.4kg in total before I stripped the outer layers of fat and other tissue and I got about 20 thick pieces out of them.
hope that helps.

They were still a niche player at the time, as they get bigger the spotlight gets hotter.

Like all the supermarket meats... Aldi's fair is no better or worse... it's all a matter of personal taste
There's a Good Deal to be had... and I'll be steaking a few for the BBQ

Skip this and get the 28 day matured topside roasting joint at £8.99 per Kg.... I doubt you will regret it.
The thing about Aldi is they seem to avoid the negative media attention even when they are the worst culprits. Just makes me wonder what else they get away with
