While this isn't going to win any speed awards, if you're after a tablet for the kids, I don't see how this can be beaten. 16GB and 4G connectivity for £35!
O2 "Grade A" are customer returns which are as new - no scratches or marks. £35 includes a PAYG sim with 1GB of data (which I think are £10 on their own).
The 8GB version gets great reviews at Amazon - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Alcatel-ONETOUCH-Pop-7S-Tablet/dp/B00M0FKMBK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1466013169&sr=8-1&keywords=alcatel+pop+7s - and yeah, it's no iPad but for this price it's a bargain.
Update: These are 8GB, not 16GB as advertised.

For a basic 4g tablet it's reasonably priced but critical reviews elsewhere seem to suggest it's not that great. Like you say ideal for the kids but not for anyone expecting an enjoyable experience as an more mature user.
I am a mature advanced user with in depth IT skill and executive professional experience, this tablet is supreme and is too good for kids with its 4GB internal storage for specific features for £35 plus quidco. At £35 to X 2, in case you are wishing upon a star, there is no tablet with all these functions (miracast, 4G, voice calls, bluetooth, GPS and infrared) which have great critical reviews elsewhere and and is for everyone as even an iPAD, Samsung is not for everyone.

They gave it 80% based on a purchase price of £99.99, so for £25 if the cashback tracks it would do the job for a lot of people.

I don't think this is going to be a 16gb tablet, because I don't think Alcatel make them in this size.
O2 have the new ones listed as 4gb size, so i don't see how these refurbished ones will be 16gb tablets.
I have a feeling this will be a mistake in there listing, and you'll get a 4Gb tablet.
Let see, I've ordered one also, as i saw that Quidco was also offering £10 for tablets, and that tracked, so it could turn out to be £25. However, if it does arrive and is only 4GB ROM, that may make it unusable.
Let's see.

After reading elsewhere I am pretty sure this is 4GB internal storage, therefore is OK for undemanding tasks but bought because of possibility of Android 4.3? (because of Apps Ops), Miracast, Infra red (remote control of TV), make voice calls and do SMS, possibility of quidco and it has bluetooth and GPS.

Liamo, do you have any links to the unlock site for 99p?
For £25 it's great. Can't tell it's a refurb other than the brown box. The screen isn't half as bad as the reviews make out - yeah it's not great, but perfectly reasonable. It's also surprisingly fast.
To think I could buy 23 of these for the price i paid for my iPad is ridiculous!

Sorry to bother you but I am new in Quidco world, please could you let me know how to get £10 cashback through Quidco for buying this product.
bma1445
17 Jun 16#29
Register on quidco.com, search for O2 and there will be a link for o2 tablets, click through that, order and the cashback will track. Normally it'll be paid in a couple of months.
The screen really isn't as bad as the reviews make out IMO. I dunno if I got a good one or they all use the same parts, but they seem overly harsh (perhaps having reviewed it as much higher prices criticism is more justified - you'd be a bit annoyed if you'd spent a couple hundred!
On another note - mines now in bits (I wanted it for protyping) and it's really repairable. I was worried that at this price it'd all be glued, or soldered together. Although I think they're fairly old stock - my battery says it was made August 2014. Perhaps they're ex display units or something.

mine arrived this morning, never seen a tablet flat packed in such a way before but hey ho, no damage so that's what counts. performance? well so far I have just set it up and had a quick play but I am blown away to be honest, I was expecting similar performance to the Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 (I.e. pretty sluggish) but it's blisteringly fast in comparison. so far not noticed any noticeable lag. will report back when I've had a proper play.

Had a proper play, I am just blown away by how well this performs! People are quick to note the less than HD screen, but this choice seems to pay dividends in terms of performance, Cameras are crap (but work) viewing angles and resolution aren't great. O2 lie about the Storage (they are 8GB not 16GB I am having a hell of a job arguing this point with CS, now in contact with Ronan Dunne) Build is plasticy .... but performance is great, and not a world behind my last tablet, which was a Galaxy Tab S! I had a an awful time on o2 Webchat! With two different reps patronising me. trying to tell me I misunderstood, and that 16GB only meant they could be expanded by buying an SD card!! I took a transcript of the chat and forwarded it to o2's executive office. To be honest I'm not too bothered as I have cards here, and I knew what I was getting when I ordered, but its a principle thing, you can't offer one spec and ship out another!

I have got a workaround, wiped cache partition, reset to factory state, so I can use now the pre-installed "Peel Smart Remote". As otherwise I think the only way is to root it and then uninstall the pre-install version but the snag is "Peel Smart Remote" does not appear in the Play store though. And don't update within the "Peel Smart Remote" as otherwise you get stuck with a mandatoru upgrade message.
