None of these tablets are refurbished.
It's a sales ploy. Factory reset can be done by anybody.
Refurbished is in the title for every crap tablet that gets posted on hukd.
So misleading for buyers.

Got one of these off ebay 2nd hand a little while ago. Tablet is ok for general browsing and lighter games. However, I wouldn't buy this for kids to use. 1 drop and a crack appeared on the digitizer and it no longer recognises any touch input.

They are usually customer returns or open box items...Argos also have a few clearance warehouses around the country that sell the same items (Corby, Stanley, Walsall)
Don;t think the listing or the webpage makes any mention of software or hardware upgrades so don't know where you plucked that one from??
Would you buy an open box item from Argos high street store at full price? no and neither would most people. Hence the reason Argos sell them cheaper on their eBay page and in their clearance stores.
Unless you have evidence to prove that the items have NOT been refurbished then I'll carry on listing them as refurbished as Argos have stated they are....

I have had several refurbished items from Argos Ebay Outlet. One was a Toshiba laptop. When I tried to check the warranty status with Toshiba they told me the unit had previously been sold through Carphone Warehouse to another customer. I am guessing Argos buy these units in bulk lots from some sort of industry auction site and sell them on. All my purchases have been A1 and about half the full cost so stop squabbling about the use of the term "refurbished".
As for the Alba sadly its not worth the cost of the carboard box its sold in. Dreadful electronics on par with Bush and Technika. A review here if can be bothered to read it. Pay an extra £5 or so and go for a decent "refurbished" Argos tablet such as an Acer, Asus etc.
To be fair that review exactly backs up my suggested use for this tablet in the thread starter...If it gets bust it's £35...

If you want to report them for mis-representation be my guest but I'm sure they'll just laugh at you and give you valid reasons as to why they class it as a refurbishment not a used item. Unless you work in Argos's refurb depart you don't know if what you're saying is true. You can't claim something without the evidence to prove what you're saying - in other words it is a speculation.
If university has taught me one thing of my three years there it's you can't go round blabbing without the evidence to prove the point you're trying to make - it makes you look like an imbecile.
That's because the warranty resides with Argos not the original manufacturer. Every Argos refurb I see, unless stated otherwise, always states "Refurbished With a 12 Month Argos Guarantee".
Clear to see the warranty resides with Argos not the brand/manufacturer.

I am perfectly aware that Argos provide a 12 months warranty as they have done with all my purchases. I contacted Toshiba to see if the might provide an extended warranty as the laptop was "as new". It was interesting to find out that the item had previously been sold by Carphone Warehouse (which is the point I am making). Toshiba to their credit said they would cover my Laptop with their warranty for the first 6 months of use as a goodwill gesture.
Hopefully the point was making about the origins f these products has now sunk in.

What do you do "in the Industry" delivery driver for Currys or something? http://www.webopedia.com/TERM/R/refurbished.html
20yrs working for HP in the industry and I know refurbished has nothing to do with hardware upgrades...especially with a tablet running an SoC...
It's a £35 tablet, Argos have had it returned, wiped the OS to stock and cleaned it with a cloth. Refurbished.

20 years with hp and you are posting this crap. I guess you worked for the sales division.
The tablet is second hand. Refurbished is a dirty word for cleaning the screen.
