Had these for over 2 years. They come with a protective case, which I leave at home. They get thrown into and dragged out of my rucksack every day for the commute and they are still as good as the day they were bought. These are brilliant headphones.

These every day of the week, the bass is crazy good, the sound is clear, they're very durable, and look nice and slim, imo best headphones in this price range, got them for xmas a while back, were £40 then and I would pay £40 now!

Insane price for these amazing head phones. Probably not the most comfortable around and they are quite noisy but brilliant sound and portability.

These are very good 'phones, super clear and tuneful. The only downer is the open back which means if you play loud then you'll disturb other people. If I didn't have decent 'phones already I'd definitely bag these. Great price.

I agree with your first sentence but the negatives you mention are not valid - these are definitely not open back. Wonderful phones though and at this price I think unbeatable.

Get these, I have 2 pairs of them and tempted for a back up 3rd. The first ones i've bought are 2yrs old and never had any issue with them.

I've had some older 450s for must be about 4 years. The actual headphones are still going strong with daily use but I am on my fourth cable (it's detachable so replaceable).

Can anyone comment if these would be any good for Vive? will they hold on the head with quick head jolts etc?

I wear these every day on my commute to and from work. They are easy in the head and fold up without fuss. They are crisp and clear and are often in the Best Buy section of magazine reviews. I would buy again without hesitation.

My only niggle is that they're top heavy, the headband has a tendancy to flip over if you lower your head to look down at something. The answer is to sit perfectly still

Ok, they are not strictly open perhaps but they do leak noise as the pad size is quite small and the seal against ears not that good. It depends on how loud you play them and the ambient noise of course. I ended up selling mine because I care about disturbing other people. At home they were excellent and I can recommend them.

I appreciate your views and ownership experience, however your comments are misleading. These headphones are 100% closed back, no "perhaps" or "not strictly open" about it.
Noise leakage isn't discernibly different to any other mid range on ear headphones either. For me the pads are a good fit and are comfortable. There will naturally be some sound loss and likewise noise can come the opposite direction if in a noisy environment - over ear phones are usually better suited here though.

This is a very good deal! Headphones themselves have been reviewed favourably by professional reviewers.
I have the AKG 551, more expensive than this but the cans cover your ears entirely. The sonics are well balanced. The 451s should be as good, but aimed at the more mobile crowd as it's not as big as the 550/551.
All in all, good buy!

Well, I got mine today, but I'm not impressed. I have pairs which cost less than a third of the price of these and yet sound better, including the Panasonic ones posted on here a few months ago which were under a tenner at the time. The sound from these is extremely muddy. Bass isn't bad though but I'm sending mine back. I'm a tad worried now though because I already ordered a pair of AKG Y55s last week and I'm starting to wonder if those will be up to scratch when they arrive...

Do you think they are worth running in for a while? I've had mine yesterday but they are still in the box. This was pretty much an impulse buy on my part.... but if they aren't any good... although how will returns work for .de?
Marko73

No, I don't, because I believe the whole "running in" thing is mostly a placebo effect. I have googled though and what I found says that there could be some slight difference, theoretically, but it's very minimal, probably not even detectable, and that most of the effect is just the wearer getting used to the sound. Still, I'm sure some audiophiles will be along to tell me they can hear the difference, underwater, with a pillow over their head! FWIW I've never noticed the sound from any headphones to change after a few days. This may be because I've usually still had my old ones around so any comparison I made initially could still be made later on.
Returns seem fairly straightforward, you get the usual printable labels from Amazon, with some extra things to print out for customs declaration, one to stick on the parcel and another to hand to your courier. You need to pay postage yourself but Amazon will refund up to about 8 Euros of postage costs once they have the item back.

I got my K451s a couple of years ago. Initially I was disappointed with the sound, particularly given the good reviews. Like you I found the sound 'muddy'. I've stuck with them though and really like them now. Whether that's because I've grown accustomed to the sound quality or if they did indeed benefit from 'running in' I don't know. I think they're well worth this price though given the extras you get.
On the point of noise leakage which someone else brought up- these are definitely closed back phones so will only leak sound if the pads don't fit your ears well. I find I can turn these up really loud in my office without anyone noticing (tested by laying my fingers over the pads and turning music up as loud as possible). Then again we do have quite noisy air conditioning.
Just put in an order for some for my daughter so thanks to the OP for putting up the deal.
