In recent months harvester prices have been put up a lot, they are trying to make it more up market with extra sauces and olives on the 'salad bar'. Harvester has always been an everyday sort of place to get a reasonably priced meal, not impressed with their attempt to increase prices.

(PERSONAL OPINION, before people get the defensive plays out!)
I found the food in harvester over rated from 5 years ago when i first tried it, i have been since then between 5-10 times and found the food has progressively got worse.
The 'free' salad bar is horrendous and last time i was there i ordered half a chicken (around the £11 mark) and got a dry wood pigeon size portion
Rant over but wouldn't go back even if they offered free food "/

Same here. Last time I visited ordered sirloin steak which was impossible to chew, the replacement was just as bad. Waiting staff encouraged me to complain 'cause apparently the chef had switched suppliers and buying crap. In addition my wife's pigeon - sorry, half-chicken - could not be served with mash 'cause it had been replaced with garlic mash - which was rank even to me who eats raw garlic. Never been back for nearly an year now and won't be going there in a hurry until they start serving simple proper mash and stop forcing customers to pay extra to swap sides.

Typical. Mothers day offer was a lot better (£10 off and free glass of wine).

All the negi Harvester comments are funny to read. They're all "incident specific".
Although Harvester food isn't exactly gourmet, its bloody good value. With free salad and free unlimited refill soft drinks... how can you complain over price!?
I'm a Harvester regular up and down the country when I am travelling, and although they are not exempt from a complaint or two from myself over the years... I still go back because it is wholeheartedly worth it.
I think some of you expect too much.
Also, back on topic, as pointed out further up, you should NEVER pay full price at Harvester as there is near enough always a deal going on. Check Vouchercloud etc or they sometimes have their own deals (I.e. this one) on their own site.
Put it this way, a couple can dine for £20-25 and be absolutely stuffed without ordering a starter. Bad value my a*se...

The "i want it all" share platter is lovely, and although i got a bad one once, its usually spot on. £26 shared between 3 people (2 adults and a toddler) is not too bad price wise, and with this £5 off its even better

I would have agreed with you until recently, before the recent new menu the price of a meal was an average of £8 but now hardly anything on the menu is less than £10. If I am paying £10 for a meal then I may as well pay another couple of quid for a decent meal in an independent restaurant.
As far as I am concerned Harvester has always been a convenience food outlet and their attempts to dress it up as something more and hike the prices just makes it less interesting. I tend to be looking for reasonable low cost meals when we can't be bothered to cook or something nice on a special occasion. Harvester has now positioned themselves to be neither so we haven't been back.
Our nearest Harvester is next to ADSA so we would tend to go shopping and have a meal there, we have stopped now, not because of any complaint about the food or anything, just simply they are trying to be something they are not and priced themselves out of the convenience market. There are plenty of other places near us that offer meals for £8 or less so we simply go to them now.

Fair point and thanks for not starting a ridiculous keyboard argument like most do haha!
I fully get you though, I much preferred it prior to the menu changes, but I have grown to adapt to it now and I have no real issues aside from the burgers being nothing like the quality they were a few years ago.
Have you tried Flaming Grill as an alternative?
Our lass loves that place and since she showed me, I fell in love with it too.
They always have stupid deals on like 30/40% off (again, check Vouchercloud) and the one we go to is impeccable for the price.
