Just used the tar stuff on my car there, cost me £8 from a local shop but it really really works. Did particularly well removing old tax disk glue.

If you use SRP, give it a coat of EGP after. You'll find you won't need to polish it for a good while. I use Bodywork Shampoo, them SRP followed by EGP. For the next few weeks just the shampoo is fine as it won't strip off the EGP.
sniperpenguin
6 Jun 16#12
The trouble with the SRP is that it is full of fillers..... If you dont use EGP afterwards, it will just look rubbish again about a week later :disappointed:

No such thing as web exclusive! In store price match their own website.
Note it's for 3 for 2 on cleaning stuff instore and online so not quite sure understand this - suppose if you want just one item.
PLEASE use British Cycling to get further 10%. Best of luck if you are using the Dumfries store. They are telling customers that Karcher not included in 3 for 2 offer. Saw someone putting them right about this.
Oh, just seen the 3 for 2 replaced with this which is obviously a worse offer as only covers Auto Glym - well done for the heat - just shows voters know nowt about deals.

I would recommend the Glass Cleaner, Bodywork shampoo, High Definition Wax and also the Aqua Wax. With the Aqua Wax though you'd be better off buying this elsewhere in bulk (5 litres for around the £35 - £40 mark) - and its then called Express Wax.
If I have time, I use the High Def wax, but if not, the AquaWax/Express Wax works a treat and also smells lovely!

£30.75 on ebay at the moment, it is really good stuff
seems like a good idea, I have Bilt Hamber clay and it's pretty tough therefore hard to use to maximum affect. Need to get that guy out of storage with all the treesap my cars have been exposed to in the last few weeks, it looks like dots of superglue on the car!

People saying it is cheaper on eBay etc.... Where is it cheaper? I can find it for a few pence cheaper but then you have 30% to take off with halfords so a pound or two cheaper in every case...

A lot of people just like to whinge on this site and try to rubbish whatever deal is posted. This is a decent deal if you just want one items, or perhaps a gift set for fathers day, it also works out cheaper than e bay as you say and in some instances will also work out cheaper than the previous 3 for 2 offer depending on what you buy
Specifically for the doubters, buy a gift set at £21.99, a shampoo at 10.99 and a polish at £15.99 = £37.98 on a 3 for 2, on this offer 30% off works out £34.28, so cheaper with this deal. People rarely buy three same priced items on 3 for 2 so don't get maximum benefit from those offers.

I have cream/beige sections of leather on my seats in my Mini and needs to clean them up a bit as they have got a bit dirty over the years. Are any of the leather products recommended for this job? There seems to be a cleaner with 3 stars and a balm with 5 stars... and I can't see anything about them working on all colours of leather. Probably being overly cautious but don't want to ruin anything as I'm planning on selling it. Any advise would be appreciated as if any of these discounted items are good, I'll go buy!
TheChiefExecutive
7 Jun 16#53
The fast glass and aqua wax are very good as others have said. This is a better deal than 3 for 2 and you only win with that deal if your items are the same price. This is a true 30% saving and you can buy what you actually want.

Wow, some cracking comments on here from people who don't know what is out there.
AG stuff is just OK, nothing more nothing less. It serves a purpose. Only AG products I rate are the glass cleaner and the HD wax.
For the rest there are much better alternatives:
Meguiars gold class shampoo instead of bodywork shampoo
Meguiars Endurance tyre gel instead of instant tyre dressing
Poorboys Natural Look dressing instead of Bumper gel/vinyl and rubber care
Poorboys blackhole glaze (darker cars) or white diamond (lighter cars) instead of SRP
Tesco Daisy All purpose cleaner instead of Engine Degreaser
The 30% is taken off when you put it into your basket.
If it was this set your were looking at Autoglym Cabriolet Fabric Hood Maintenance Kit £16.09 @ Halfords which would be cheaper than Amazon

How often are you using it?
I use the protector once every 6 months and the cleaner once a month. Granted it's only a tiny Abarth 500c, but it seems to be lasting ages.

7 Jun 16#65
Try to clean and waterproof at least once a year but moved house in 2014 and so missed a year. Tried to do it in March and realised I'd run out of stuff.
It really needs doing now. On my list as a holiday job whilst I'm off work.
Hoping everyone is enjoying this insight into my life!
i would recommend Poor Boys products and clay bar. Much Better.
Other half is seriously fussy about his carand uses nothing else. He has leant friends some and the results are amazing. If you can get hold of a polisher with a bit of time you can remove swirl marks too and have her like new. http://www.theultimatefinish.co.uk/car-care/wheel-wax-and-sealants.aspx

Hi all,
Just read up about what products to use and when as otherwise you might be wasting your time if you do things in the wrong order. In simple terms:
- Clay bar = removes ALL wax etc from a car, should be used wet as a first step to get rid of contamination/cr*p off the paint.
- Polish, should only be used once the paint is v clean, i.e right after being clayed. It offers NO protection, just makes the paint shine nicely.
- Wax - used as a layer to protect the paint once the paint is clean/polished, if you just wax your car then your likely just waxing a layer over bad paint/contamination.
IMO its best to clay/polish/wax every 6-12 months (dont go too OTT on the polish as it does strip the paint off if used too heavily). Then just keep the car washed every 1-4 weeks and apply a layer of wax after ideally to add further protection.
Never use car washes if possible, the products they use are pretty intense/harsh on your car.
I could go into much more detail but hopefully this helps some people.

7 Jun 161#72

7 Jun 161#75
Wash > clay > t-cut > polish > Wax
So wash to clean the paint initially, clay to remove all dirt/contamination, t cut to remove the scratches, polish to shine the paint, wax to seal it all in.
I'd probably only use t cut if the paint is bad, a polish should get most swirl marks etc out. I've never used T cut myself but had my car professional machine polished as for me the risk of messing it up is too big, I prefer an pro to do it who knows what compound to use, what level of pad, and so on as every car make & paint is a little different.
miniminihaha
7 Jun 16#76
Not sure about silver paint but Meguairs Ultimate Compound has always done a good job for me on bringing up dull paintwork - works like T-Cut on steroids. Just needs a good wash down, ultimate compound and then a polish or wax to seal. Might be worth using a polisher though as fairly takes it out the arms (if you are a woose like me) when polishing/waxing the whole car twice!

7 Jun 16#77
Oh dear, and now the thread has gone onto T-cut!
