Just a word of advice here. I purchased one of these digital gift cards for pizza express. At payment I handed over the print out - and it was declined.

This has happened at four different Pizza Express branches multiple times.

Has this happened to anybody else too?

Hi Speedy

Google Play vouchers are sometimes discounted by 15% - 20%.

They dont sell Amazon gift cards and retailers who sell Amazon gift cards will not generally discount as they have approximately a 3%-5% margin.

yes i had to help them do it in my local one as its not very clear instructions on how to redeem it. it tells them at the bottom of the print out how to do it but they never followed what it said so it declined 4 times before i stepped in and told them step by step

Checked in my local Tesco Metro which sell gift cards and there was no point of sale material but got customer service to scan a £25 New Look gift card and discounted by 20% to £20 - so deal is on instore too.

this happened to me - called pizza express and they said it should be fine. got rejected in 2 different restaurants and had to pay with a credit card. finally worked in a third one. pretty unreliable. would probably be ok with the physical gift card rather than e gift card.

Just a note, if you need these cards soon, don't bother. Tesco's supplier, SVM, can't handle the increased sales when they do a promotion, so codes usually take 3-4 days to arrive.

As some have already mentioned, this is not Tesco but an affiliate called SVM Global.
I also has a bad experience. They took £100 of mine and never issued an e-gift card. Then never responded to correspondence I sent.
In my opinion it is not worth the few quid to be saved here.
Further, Tesco themselves are not interested in any dispute, but refer you back to SVM Global.

REJECTED - The transaction was failed by your 3D-Secure or AVS/CV2 rule-bases.

with Google Play I believe you can buy certain 99p or £1 SIM cards that come with £5 free top-up and use that to transfer into Google Play Store credit (effectively 80% discount :smiley:)

I had a generic 'problem with your payment' message with a prompt to contact them. I tried to purchase the same deal a couple of months ago and they took the payment, but I received no code. After a couple of weeks, I had to call Tesco Customer Services to get a refund. As someone mentioned before, their gift cards are handled by a third-party, who have non-existent customer service.

Hi guys, just a little advice when purchasing instore, make sure you pick up the gift card receipts in case of come back say if the balance fails to load onto the card. Always check the gift card balance before going shopping. If the balance fails to top up go to Tesco customer services to complain. Sometimes can take up to four days to happen. Hope this helps. I'm also getting problems paying. The website starts to display the Verified by Visa/MasterCard screen then immediately says declined by the bank without giving you the opportunity of entering any information.

I've tried this with both Visa and Mastercards in Firefox, Edge and on an iPad - none of them work.

just called up, the CSR told me they are experiencing some problems with their system and told me to try again tomorrow.

If anyone has seen these cards in store, it'd be much appreciated if you can list the store locations here. I tried 3 tescos yesterday and all don't even sell itunes cards.

I can also confirm the discount applied in store at the extra stores. I asked customer services and they seemed pretty oblivious and wouldn't/couldn't scan the vouchers to check.
Took a punt and discount was applied on receipt.

The exact same thing happened to me when promo was on few months back, payment was taken twice but no code received. Had to chase up code/refund by contacting SVM Global - took 3 phone calls before refund was sorted then had to wait to try and repurchase again. Luckily transaction went smoothly on final attempt to buy 3 £25 Debenhams vouchers at the time - saved a fortune using them with Debenhams sales and promo offers at the time! :wink:

As far as I can see they're a physical card. Don't know how long it takes them to post cards out, but their digital delivery takes forever.. still waiting.. no emails (including any sort of confirmation) thus far

Not sure often they specify in the t&cs that they csnt be used in conjunction with other vouchers or offers. Usually use the cineworld card in store so i cant see that being an issue paying the remaining with a giftcard.
