Vodafone virtual network 3G only as TM dont know when they will get 4G from VF. Talkmobile is VPNO who just buy off VF.

Super hot. I find vodafone network really good and 3G speeds around 10mbps, which is more than enough for mobile phone usage.

It's not bad for basic service as we got one for my Mum but she is a light user. When I've seen people use the SIMs heavier they suffer things like no data, calls diverting to voicemail with signal (priority to Vodafone direct customers), typical stuff for oversubscribed MVNOs really and from experience I'd say you'd struggle to even use 15GB of data in a month with them if you really tried! On paper sounds great, but I'd only have this for a backup and even then, on a low tariff.

I have a £1pm contract (25 mins and 50 texts) with Talk Mobile and they have been alright with me so far tbh. I just have it in an emergency phone. The data is only 3G which has been a stumbling block for me tranferring my main phone over to them. The call centre staff are UK based and generally get on and sort things.
You realise that talk Mobile are an mvno and will have their own billing platform right?

That's a warning for Vodafone direct customers and is related to problems with Vodafone's new billing platform. Whilst Vodafone does own Talkmobile, it's a distinct operation that uses a completely separate billing platform.
Feels crazy that this is "hot" when my EE deal which was £31pm for unl/unl/10gb 4G and Europe included and it included an iPhone 6s 64gb which could be sold immediately making the effective cost less than £6pm for similar data to this at 4G speeds etc. etc.

This isn't even remotely similar, it's on EE, it's a 24 month contract not a 30 day one and you're valuing the a network-locked 64GB 6s at over £600?
And it's a retention deal, which means you already need to be on EE...

I just got the BT offer £16 unlimited mins and texts and 15gb 4g, they use EE. They now allow tethering too.
£40 quidco cb and £60 amazon or itunes voucher.12 month contract.
I think it's £21 if you're not already a BT customer though.

How much else are you paying BT and for what services? (For example are you getting broadband all in inc line rental for £70 for the year - cheapest market rate)

True. Take all your points. Just surprised at the big difference that's all. Despite mine being cold tens if not hundreds of people have benefitted so I am happy . PS the phone sealed easily goes for £600 even if EE locked so the value comparison is fair I think

I wouldn't £600 for a phone off a random person or Ebay.
Far too easy for them to report it 'lost' a few months down the line.
With network issued phones, they can be awkward unlocking for a 3rd party.
