Xiaomi is one of the worlds biggest Mobile device manufacturers. The hardware is solid.
It is a chinese company, but not in the same league as the likes of dogee, elephone etc.. which may indeed have problems.
Xiaomi is decent quality tech at great prices.
The Mi4 is solid (I have the Mi4C which is a slightly upgraded version). clear the stock rom off it and stick stock android (if you don't like MIUI)

Don't replace your G2. Unless it's broken?
The kernel is the software on your phone that controls all the hardware (RAM, processor etc), so the intermediary between your phone hardware and Android itself.
The Kernel that LG released with Android Lollipop is outdated, inefficient and buggy. Install Dorimanx's kernel and your phone will be transformed. I'm consistently amazed by how well my G2 now works, compared to being useless beforehand.
You'll leave the Android version alone with this, no need to go with cyanogenmod or anything.
Nice phone if you are happy with 16gb storage and no micro sd card and not all 4g frequencies(o2 mostly).

I doubt that's a kernel issue. Are you sure you haven't changed some camera settings? You haven't changed the ROM presumably? Probably best PM me, as we're very OT......

Oh, just realised the price is £143.70 - though the 6% code takes £10 or so off.

Would this be OK on GiffGaff? Sis just got her phone stolen, she's only on 3G anyway, no 4G.

Did your LG G2 have a slow rubbish camera?
Does this alternative kernel fix that?
Or is my camera problem a hardware problem? Google camera has the same problem.
When switching between video and photo camera, (stock camera that came with the phone) there's a MASSIVE difference between them in terms of the viewfinder.
Video mode is of a tolerable/fast speed like looking through a block of glass but photo mode is like night mode 24/7 and the quality is a little too compressed and disappointing for 13mp.
Any help would be appreciated.

I wonder if Xiaomi will ever launch officially in UK?
I'd buy one then - A bit of a gamble otherwise for sake of £20-30 quid
Each to their own but you are still spending close to £100 for something that may not arrive or work to a decent standard

They might launch globally eventually but currently a lot of their products would be avoiding patent fees and licensing fees.

Definitely can't argue with that spec + price + brand. The Snapdragon 801 is still a pretty good chipset by today's standard. My only worry is the retailer. I personally wouldn't risk buying from them because they don't appear to have a UK base so returns and warranty issues might be a huge pain.
Is this the one that has got windows 10 from Microsoft as well?
