Price has been raised to £299 today. They are still offering the £50 game which no other retailer does at mo.
I was looking for my first xbox after deciding to defect from PS. I chose to get a kinect as opposed to other bundles involving the 1Tb or new elite controller.
The Xbox One with Kinect Bundle includes:
Matte black 500GB Xbox One console
Kinect sensor
Xbox One wireless controller with 3.5mm headset jack
Dance Central Spotlight full game download
Kinect Sports Rivals full game download
Zoo Tycoon full game
The bundle is currently on Amazon (was also discounted by a further £30 by MS) WITHOUT the free game that the Microsoft store are offering with their bundle, a choice between:
Rise of the Tombraider
Halo 5 Guardians
Both are listed as £50 games

A vastly underrated piece of kit the Kinect, good choice.

Can I ask what you use it for? I got it a few weeks ago and apart from "Xbox off" I'm struggling as to what to do with it.
Actually, I did make a substitution on FIFA by shouting at the telly. Also changed to all out attack so that was pretty cool lol.

I use it for Skype calls too - the quality is great as is the automatic pan and zoom... Cracking !

It does automatic pan and zoom on Skype? That's cool, will give that a go as my 3 year old is always moving around.
I just got the same bundle (it's been already posted Op) and really happy with it. But like poster above, why defect? I've still got my PS4 and prefer it, but I'm an esports caster on Forza so needed the Xbox

I use it mainly for :-
Auto sign in of the consoles users via face recognition
Skype
Voice commands moving between menus ( although the final command needs to be manual )
" xbox record that " for saving and ultimately uploading game clips.
Voice commands for video ( dvd , streaming etc )
I don't use it for auto on as this can lead to problems if the box is never actually disconnected from the mains.

That's a shame, I'll update the heading. It is still the best Kinect deal at mo though with the free game added.

I have a ps3 but do most of my gaming on PC. There are a few games on xbox I like but for me this is more an addition to my media room. Linked in with my projector, apple tv , home cinema and my PC, the xbox with kinect gives me great voice control, a decent blu ray player and a great console. Having never owned an xbox I thought it was time I gave it a crack.
PS3 was "ok" but getting a bit obnoxious in its old age and there is nothing on ps4 that excites me feature / games-wise.

Just my luck. I missed out on the Tesco Direct deal yesterday and now this.

Does anyone bother with connecting a Sky box or similar to the Xbox One? I can't see the point of having 2 devices on when I never watch live TV, just go through recorded programmes on the planner, don't care what Microsoft thinks it could recommend to me to watch, etc. Am I missing anything?

When we still had Sky, it was more for convenience than anything. The Kinect was capable enough to switch channels and volume with voice commands, your friend notifications would overlay as you watch tv. Microsofts original vision was to be the central hub in your living room.
I currently use mine as passthrough for the raspberry pi to save an HDMI input on the TV.

What auto on problems were you experiencing? Last night when attempting to "Xbox off" it kept turning itself back on. Tried about 5 times and it would not power down.
I used the Xbox record that the other da whilst playing Grid 2 online. That was excellent. Would not have been able to record that as I was mid race. That's a really cool feature.
Might have to give Skype a go!

Problems were more in game updates, the cache never clears properly as the console never gets a cold boot ie disconnecting from the mains and waiting a minute..
Regarding the xbox off thing I would check and reconnect the Kinect cables , you can also do a hard reset by holding down the xbox logo for 10 seconds but this is just the same as a cold boot. I had an issue ( I don't recall ) that was solved by a cold boot. That is also the standard Microsoft reply. The console is clever but it fools itself sometimes as it can expect things to happen in a certain order, but again just turning it off and waiting usually sorts it. FYI I have a day one console with literally thousands of hours on it. I hope you experience the same longevity.

Iv'e just remembered the problem was with the controller being on when I said xbox off, some sort of issue where the controller said on which overrides the voice command. You could try turning the controller off first, not ideal but it may work.
