Currently on sale for £15 on the UK Xbox store, but almost half that (774,50R) if you go via the Russian store which is simple and not scary at all :)
The link to the Russian product page is:
https://store.xbox.com/ru-RU/Xbox-One/Bundle/Elite-Dangerous-Standard-Edition/74e9cc2a-16d1-4689-ab2a-117e73fa02c4
If this does not work, try switching region at Xbox.com and searching for the product.
Instructions below:
1) Go to the Russian MS store (http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msru/ru_RU/list/categoryID.68295800). You may need to switch locales (bottom left) if you page is redirected to UK.
2) If you are using Chrome, choose the option to translate the page when offered (in the top bar) - this will make it easier to see what you're doing.
3) Unless you already have some Ruble balance in your account, you will need to purchase enough balance to cover the purchase - so that's 500R + 1000R in this case (or 3 x 500). Add these to your basket and click "Checkout".
4) You will be asked to sign-in. Sign in with your normal Microsoft account.
5) Once signed-in, fill in the details for the invoice. I used a Russian university address:
7-9 University emb.
St.Petersburg
199034
6) Add your card details as requested. You can store all of these details for next time.
7) Click the Terms checkbox and then click "Complete the purchase".
8) Once the checkout is completed, you will be presented with the redemption codes for the gift cards. Make a note of these, or keep this browser tab open.
9) Now go to xbox.com and ensure your region is set to Russia, then sign in. Once logged in, click your Avatar (top-right) then select "Use code" (second item from last).
10) Redeem ("Activate") each of the credit codes you just bought by entering the 25-digit codes. You can check your Rubles balance in the Account section (Avatar->top item, "Microsoft Account").
11) Now go to the product page on Xbox.com, then click the "Buy Now for Xbox One" button.
12) A dialogue will pop-up confirming the price and that you will use your Russian credit balance to pay, click the green button to confirm and purchase.
That's it! Go to Games & Apps on your console, download, and congratulate yourself for all the money you just saved.

sorry, was writing while walking. I just meant did it have to say digital in the title, as I didn't want to get the wrong one.
was able to find a post that said it is digital only, so no actual physical gift card is sent out.

My guide in the OP states that you get the codes for redemption immediately.

In the Russia Ms store, is it meant to be just gift card or should it say digital gift card like on the Canada store.
Got the address set to some Russian university, who would be very willing to get free Xbox credit. I wouldn't.

Whats the chances of getting banned from xbox for buying out of region? is there any? - heard they were blocking access to "out of region" purchased games which is odd give they are all region free...

Given so many people have done it or are doing it, I find it highly unlikely you will get banned. I've not heard of anyone getting blocked - that's just scare tactics.

Nah apparently Xbox's official line is that it's allowed. So I've heard.

My guess, the price has dropped with the imminent release of Horizon/Engineers 2.0 for Xbox One in June. I have not bothered with the Horizons expansion on PC but this has piqued my interest for Xbox One.

Natwest. Revolut sounds good though if you don't need to buy the MS credit in 500R chunks...

Thanks for the very clear and precise instructions. Just went through the ordering process and seemed to go through ok. Although Horizons seems to be on the way I am fairly certain the pricing will be as steep / skewed as with the PC version, i.e. you will get a £10 discount from RRP if you already own Elite: Dangerous etc. so I think this was worth the purchase. Is there any risk by ordering from other regions, MS has not taken any action against this? Banning accounts etc.

This is often discussed in these threads, but from what I understand is MS do not ban or restrict from cross-region buying. I've done it a few times without issue; I'm sure I've read that their official stance is that it's ok (they allow it after all). What they don't like is switching region to obtain another regions free Games with Gold. That could well get you a console ban.

I'm the same with Brazil
Who is your card issuer? It seems MS has blocked a lot of cards for overseas transactions, which is why we are using Revolut.

by using revoult you can cut out the entire middle bit of the process and you don't need to purchase any Russian ruble credit.

I find it far easier to use revoult. once you have purchased once from a region it saves the card details meaning future purchases are essentially 2 clicks.

Hmmm I'm torn. Elite Dangerous Horizons is out soon which is probably why this is so cheap. As far as I know - if you buy Horizons you get the main game as well. But if you already own the original - I wonder if Horizons will be cheaper as an upgrade or whether you have to buy full version.
Without Horizons you don't get planetary landings and other updates out and due out. It's like a season pack.

I'm inclined to agree, I nearly clicked on 'buy' some time ago, then did a bit of reading that suggested horizons was 'on the horizon'. I don't mind waiting a little longer, but it is definitely on my 'to buy' list.
