Seems like all (or most) of the "world book day" books have been reduced to 50p.
Can't really go wrong for 50p for a brand new book for the kids - might keep them away from the TV for a few minutes :)

The Boy Who Could Do What He Liked
Harper and the Sea of Secrets

Did you look at the special World Book Day editions? The World Book Day ones are free giveaways (with a voucher, one per child). They are not the usual glossy editions that are sold, often smaller and sometimes abridged versions printed on quite poor quality paper.
