Would this make a good replacement for the LG G2?
Looking to replace it (damaged) for no more than around £150
The G3 has been suggested but I'm a little concerned by the battery and overheating issue, though I can mod it, if that'll improve things in that regard?

I bought the cheapest silicone case I could find on ebay...search for "silicone case wileyfox swift" and sort by cheapest+postage.
Its a good quality silicone and has a rougher back texture on it for better grip. £2.95 delivered
Always buy this sort of case...not too bulky (compared to a wallet type) and will protect the phone from drops. Never had a cracked screen myself, but that's not to say this will protect it from certain drops
So if anyone comes across stuff then you know what they say - sharing is caring

Don't have any direct recommendations on these but when you're searching for accessories you can also try looking for accessories for the 'Cherry Mobile One G1' and the 'General Mobile 4G' as those phones seem to be differently badged versions of the same phone.

You can download another keyboard from the Google Play store - there are loads to choose from - and then change the settings on your phone (Language and Input) so that your chosen keyboard becomes the default.
For the case I just use a basic TPU gel case that can be found on Amazon and (cheaper) on Ebay. It does the job - the 'lip' of the case on the front means that the screen doesn't touch the surface if you put the phone face down and likewise on the back of the phone the camera is slightly recessed, giving it some protection from accidental scratching. Should also provide some (small) degree of cushioning if the phone is dropped.

It was a toss up for me, and in the end I plummeted for the Vodafone Smart Ultra 6. The reviews online can' praise the ultra 6 enough and personally after axweek of using it, i love it! Mixed reviews of the Wileyfox though hence my decision. Dual sim wasn't that important for me, if it is though that maybe the phone for you.

I don't own an M8 so not sure. This is a good phone and I'd expect it to be a little bit but not much slower than an M8 and it also has a lower screen resolution. Depending on how you use your phone you may not notice much difference. It does have some advantages over the M8 (IMO) in that it has a replaceable battery and dual SIM slots.
You could also consider the Vodafone Smart Ultra 6 - If you're quick there is a £99 deal on that covered in this thread:
Thank you - good news that the Marshmallow update is being pushed out and thanks for the advice on the sd card.

Hi, I'd guess so yes, when I woke up yesterday morning had a system update message on phone. Took around 10 mins to download and install, in terms of the SD card it will say " new SD card found" , just bear in mind if you want to use it for direct storage it will require the SD card in phone to be formatted so if you have anything on your card back it up first.
Can't remember what it said in "about phone " part under settings before but now I have:
Android version 6.0.1
Cyanogen os version 13.0
CyanogenMOD API level

Mine didn't want to switch on out of the box...no life in it whatsoever after a few minutes on the charger.
Pulled battery a few times and was just about to give up, when it came to life.
Not the finely packaged item Ive come to expect from more established brands, but happy with the customisation Im getting.
My myriad of previous USB charging cables are all too blocky to fit the charge port (now I have a silicone case on it) and will need some craft knifing I think
I went for the cheapest black case on ebay and it arrived before the phone did. Case still has a nice feel to it effectively un-brands the phone...Knight Rider'esq

Nothing can possibly be worse than my current piece of sh*t windows "market changing" Lumia 735 though. Apps either non existent or terrible, constant reboots, slow and inaccurate gps, frustrating keyboard, no browser sync til a month ago. Yes it was market changing; so god-awful it made a tonne of people want android again.
At least the camera on it is ok. So I'll take a sh*t hot photo of a much better phone tomorrow.

i just bought an infocus m560 and as much as it's a beautiful phone that could be a joy to use, it has something called "pandora's box services" installed which has permissions to pretty much everything. I think it's some kind of malware as it seems to have no relevance to the phone, i have no idea it's purpose. It cant be disabled or uninstalled, it overruled my attempts to block it from the web on netguard. i've had to root and now have it frozen using titanium backup pro HOWEVER they both automatically defrost when the phone is restarts so again are able to over ride things. it seems they are deeply embedded in the rom.
apparently it is featured on all eu stock roms.
so unless you plan on flashing a custom rom to the device or can figure out this "pandora's box"mystery that has me & the guys at xda & android forums stumped, i'd avoid this device.

2 May 161#68
Mine definitely has 2 sims and a micro SD functioning together, hope that helps.
I haven't tried a factory reset but will do, it's been one of those irritations I haven't got round to dealing with. It only started happening about January time and I don't mind diner dash crashing on occasion  but it has mainly crashed when a call comes in, highly irritating, especially when I use it for work. Other glitch I've had is occasionally when watching embedded videos it plays audio but the image freezes after a couple of seconds, resolves if I cast the video, so pretty sure it's a software problem, rather than the video.
I loved it to begin with and recommended to a colleague, but had to withdraw the recommendation after recent crashes, luckily he hadn't bought it yet. I wish I could be more positive. I'm a pretty heavy user and I always get more than a day out of the battery. Will report back after a reset, but the crashing isn't frequent enough for me to be helpful for this thread. At the price I'd probably still be tempted as I seem to be in a minority.

He who dares wins Rodney. Clicked on the Amazon link, it said if I order within two minutes I can have it tomorrow, we're off to Menorca on Wednesday morning and my wife dropped her Nexus 5 and cracked the screen, this is only marginally dearer than a repair so I thought I'd go for it. She's not the slightest bit interested in technical specs so as long as she can take photos of the family with it and receive calls without it being laggy or clunky she'll be happy.

I bought this phone in September and it's both fab and rubbish at the same time. Has excellent battery, really fast and multi tasks much better than my moto G 2nd gen. Feels great in your hand and gets lots of compliments. Downsides have been multiple crashes and often during phonecalls, or while trying to answer the phone. Sims can't be as well as managed as with the moto G eg assigning certain contacts to each SIM which worked well as I use mine for work.
Overall I live with the problems, majority of the time the phone works well. Wouldn't recommend on the basis that it's too glitchy.

No crashes for me yet but I haven't had it long.
Looking round on the web I can't see anything other than a few random mentions (no consistency to reports) of apps crashing and none of the Cyanogen OS crashing. I'm sure that the Oppo F1 is the same as most 4G Dual-SIM phones. You can enable 3G/4G data on either slot, but not at the same time. The priority SIM (with data enabled) can use 3G/4G, the secondary SIM is 2G only (for texts/calls only), which 3 (Three UK) does not support.
bookshifter
2 May 161#37
Will the Wileyfox Swift accept two 3 sims in both sim card slots? I know the data will be only active in one sim slot, as long as I can still receive calls on the other. I am a very low data user so plan on getting the 200mb 3 data reward sim to go alongside an existing 3-2-1 3 sim.
Are there any other phones in this price bracket or similar which can take 2 x 3 sims? Thank you

2 May 16#44
Unfortunately the 2nd SIM slot (or at least the one with data disabled) is 2G only. So you will be unable to make calls or receive texts if you are using a 3 (Three UK) SIM. Three used fall back to 2G using the Orange network when there was no available 3G signal, but this was switched off in 2013, so now it's only 3G or 4G.

I have just replaced my Moto 2 second generation, which seems to be trying to go back to the dark ages, as it was taking forever to do anything. I did my research and bit the bullet and brought, in the end, the Samsung Galaxy J5, and so glad that I have. What a difference and just a dream to use. The reason that I did not buy the Wileyfox is that I have used foreign dual phones before, and imo just find that they have no back up to fixing problems. The deal was on Amazon and I paid £134.00 and I just wished that I had did my homework properly and brought this before the Moto 2nd gen.

Ordered one of these in the week, arrived on Saturday.
Have had dual sim phones before - I can confirm you can have 2 SIM cards and a MicroSD card in this phone all at once. You set a default for mobile internet and can either set a default or select per call/text when you click send/call.
Screen resolution is good, OS seems responsive (Cyanogen mod has a huge following and means it doesn't come with all of the usual apps that brands pack on the phone)
Previously had an Elephone P8000 so it's a bit smaller (5" compared to 5.5") but actually for someone with smaller hands, it's much easier to hold/use.
Great price as well, I have a SIM only contract so with the savings from that and price of these types of phone, I can afford to replace it every year if something catches my eye.

Fairly sure you are wrong there.
I've been looking for a 5" (or less) dual SIM phone with a separate micro SD slot, good GPS and compass to replace my slowing Moto G dual SIM gen 2. This was one I was considering but have pretty much discounted it because there are reported issues with the GPS (have to peel back a layer inside the cover or something) and lots of micro SD cabes don't fit properly as the recess for the connection is too deep. It does have 2 SIM slots plus the microSD card though.
PS. If anyone does know of any phone meeting the above criteria do let me know. There doesn't seem to be much around of decent quality. Kingzone N5 and Infocus M560 (a bit big though) are 2 though don't think the N5 has a compass.

Looking to replace it (damaged) for no more than around £150
The G3 has been suggested but I'm a little concerned by the battery and overheating issue, though I can mod it, if that'll improve things in that regard?
There's another one that has a wood effect which looks good as well
Its a good quality silicone and has a rougher back texture on it for better grip.
Anyone recommend case, screen protector or any other accessories
For the case I just use a basic TPU gel case that can be found on Amazon and (cheaper) on Ebay. It does the job - the 'lip' of the case on the front means that the screen doesn't touch the surface if you put the phone face down and likewise on the back of the phone the camera is slightly recessed, giving it some protection from accidental scratching. Should also provide some (small) degree of cushioning if the phone is dropped.
You could also consider the Vodafone Smart Ultra 6 - If you're quick there is a £99 deal on that covered in this thread:

Can't remember what it said in "about phone " part under settings before but now I have:
Android version 6.0.1
Cyanogen os version 13.0
CyanogenMOD API level
Dragon fruit (4).
Now to look for bigger SD Cards and get a 4G upgrade from provider
No sign of it on my phone unfortunately :disappointed:
The camera is more than capable for my needs. And i use a charging lead bought from poundland without any issues.
I beleive that cyanogenOS 13 is being rolled out now too.
Just broke mine and its almost as cheap just to get this.
I just dont want anything considerably slower; not bothered about camera etc.
I cannot find a custom rom to flash not that I'd even know how. I can find a stock rom but apparently it's part of the stock rom.
Luckily I was able to return it within two weeks.
CM is more 'proper' Android than a Samsung is.
apparently it is featured on all eu stock roms.
so unless you plan on flashing a custom rom to the device or can figure out this "pandora's box"mystery that has me & the guys at xda & android forums stumped, i'd avoid this device.
Overall I live with the problems, majority of the time the phone works well. Wouldn't recommend on the basis that it's too glitchy.
Looking round on the web I can't see anything other than a few random mentions (no consistency to reports) of apps crashing and none of the Cyanogen OS crashing. With any smart phone I think you are going to get occasionally crashes of apps or OS reboots - certainly all my previous smartphones have crashed more than once.

Are there any other phones in this price bracket or similar which can take 2 x 3 sims? Thank you

Also even though it says it will take a 32GB micro sd card I am using a 64 with no problem.

I'll make this easy for you, yes, yes it will.
