Hot for me every day of the week. Hot or cold for the selects obsessives is a different story, will be interesting to see.

This game isn't part of the Selects range in Europe, so will be the original release.

I would absolutely be buying this, but I'm trying to get Halo 5 finished, and then Uncharted 4 is out in a few days, so I'm gonna hold fire. Good price though. Heat added.

I think it's quite probable - the question is when though...

I see this price deal and I remember the hilarity of some here trying to indicate the price was crashing when it was available at this price a couple of months after launch
prankster101 to jsty3105

This is not a price crash. Retailers probably had a few too many unsold copies after launch...

Voted hot but still holding out for the price to drop on this!

When I first played this I was desperate to play through a level as quickly as I could to see what the next was like. Some of the levels are incredible (the desert/sahara style one in particular). The Mario Kart one is great too. I wish they had a few more like it.

I seriously can not recommend this game enough. EASILY one of the top 10 games of this gen thus far. I own the fluffy sleeve edition...lush!

You have just reminded me that I also own the furry sleeve and how cool it is. Completely forgot I had that somewhere! :stuck_out_tongue:

Oh, I know this isn't a price crash. :stuck_out_tongue: In reality, there never was a price crash. Any discounts were retailer-specific and weren't replicated by other retailers on a larger scale. After a short period of time, prices went back up.

Great game! Have replayed it with different friends too. Probably not going to come down from this price anytime soon.

its a cute game but im pretty sure i paid £22.99 for this about a year ago, why are Nintendo games always so high priced (and why do people think £30 is a good price for a relativity "old" game) i understand people will get this as its the cheapest its been in many months.
rickitmk12 to clemo1981

It's an old title but it remains one of, if not the best game for the Wii U. The best Nintendo games notoriously tend to hold their value anyway.
jsty3105 to clemo1981
5 May 162#22
Because people still buy them at that price and most keep them afterwards rather then selling them on.
There's a school of thought I don't subscribe to that believes all games should significantly depreciate in value as time goes by until they should be given away free. Obviously I like cheaper games otherwise I wouldn't frequent this site but I think balance should be struck somewhere. I recognise I'm probably in the minority though.

This is a great game, anything under £30 (even 5p!) is a great deal considering how expensive this game has been for the past year or so. Even 2nd hand copies on Ebay were comfortably going for £30+.

This will be released on Selects won't it? keep your money until then

Don't get your hopes up. Literally nothing implies we're getting it as a selects title besides America did. We got alternate titles as Selects, Lego Undercover instead for example when US didn't.

I get that BUT its a nintendo wii u game, its not up to parr with AAA titles from other consoles. ITs just nintendo of Japan not dropping the price for the westerners. I enjoy the game as much as the next, nice to play a game where you can just shut your brain off but I would say wii u games are worth £30 to start off with.
Again not knocking the game i have it and i bought it for my kids and whenever i want to play it but nintendo arent doing themselves favours by keeping the rrp on their best games very high
jsty3105
5 May 16#26
What you're describing is illegal. Nintendo cannot specify the retail prices in Europe.
In terms of a Nintendo Wii U game not being up to par with AAA titles from other consoles - well, that's a very strong statement. I don't know what to say other than the gaming world disagrees with you. Nintendo's best games are critically acclaimed by press and gamers alike and commands high review scores from both.
clemo1981
5 May 16#27
There is a Nintendo of europe that can do this. its not up to the online or street stores to make the rrp up
Now im using my 35 years of gaming experience as my own opinion. I am a gamer, always will be, i was very impressed with the SNES back in the day,.Super Mario World I would rank possibly one if not the Greatest game of ALL time but im not kidding myself, we can only live in retro gaming for so long. Nintendo havent made great gaming strides with pushing the games forward. YES, i know these are solid platformers and the alike, but most are idealised due to the brand name, (just like most AAA titles on other consoles)
what i am saying is, a game after a year or so shouldnt be the same price as its release day price, it will only carry the business so far, Trust me. WII U doesnt have that many titles in fairness and i know the argument is that not alot of people want to sell their games ( I never sell anything i buy gamewise) but the truth is, if by word of mouth the company thinks damn no one will buy my game, i will ride it out and see, if they dont i will reduce it....
example: Call of duty.... these titles were very expensive for up to 2 years after release. I couldnt get modern warfare 2 on the ps3 NEW for under £35 for months, it would not decrease. Then People started to question the sequels and its copy and paste and non evolution of its gameplay. Then people waned about the futuristic settings and double jump... When Ghosts come out it bombed in terms of critical success. Made the money but within a month the price dropped, then 2 months even further until it was a joke compared to its predecessors.
If everyone who believes paying full whack or high price for a Nintendo console game 12-16 months after release is good then ofcourse the company will not drop its price and therefore it will continue on as normal. Im not knocking everyone who thinks like that as you can argue that its helping Nintendo and your supporting the company and its growth (Remember they arent doing so well in the profits before)
I was just merely voicing my opinion on the subject matter of this and other games such as ZELDA not going down in price as we are all on a price comparison or deal finder website hunting for the best prices. Im just opinionated in my understanding that my WII U doesnt hold a candle to my x1 or ps4 in terms of playability and titles offered, thats my 2 cents on it.
think of it like buying a 2nd hand mercedes. yes amazing car but after a year EVERYTHING will come down in price.
This isn't something companies would play around with. Well, not to say some won't try but the penalties are large. Of course, if you do in fact prove that Nintendo fixes minimum prices of their goods in Europe then I imagine your story will be worth a very very large sum of money to papers and tabloids.

While that option is wonderful for those with loads of dosh who can live in that world of convienence, many will say you can't beat a physical copy of the game with its resale value, and something more tangible and collectible.

Literally just bought a wii u after thinking about it for a year or so! I got a good deal as it came with 13 games but not this one! Just ordered it as to me it's a must have! The original on the N64 was a classic and regarded as one of the best games ever! Let's hope I'm not disappointed! :stuck_out_tongue:

Speaking of illegal things and Nintendo - DONT google Loadiine GX 2.
I hear that the kernel has been exploited for newer firmware and that the exploit is simply visiting a webpage - not hacking the console or modding it permanently in any way.
If you have a WiiU - then now is the time to trade the games and perhaps console in as March 2017 is when the NX is due for release.
Teath123 to g_horricks
8 May 16#36
That's fine for single player games, but most of the appeal of the WiiU is the multiplayer games. Mario Kart, Splatoon, Smash Bros, Mario Maker levels, etc. As far as I'm aware you can't go online at all.

Yes, that is true.
I'm lucky enough to own all the consoles available and think that although Nintendo have great first party titles, they have shafted people who cannot afford a second console. The WiiU sounded great when I queued up overnight and had to buy a bundle (400 pounds IIRC), but on reflection the fact that there are few games being release, no third party support and a new console released March 2017 - it tells the story.
As for online - well, if you do enough reading you can see that in a short amount of time (months) there will be CFW for the WiiU which will allow online play and the latest firmware. When I said it was hacked, i meant that the talented folks have the keys and its just a question of time for them to develop an emuNAND.
Anyway - Great company, I own ALL the Amiibo collection including many rare ones so all I can say is "Nintendo take my money".
Always support game developers - buy the games.
