If you think its tedious in WWHD you should play the original, it was MUCH worse!

I have the wii u and think it's great but let's be real the console is a flop compared to the previous generation which was the winner over ps3 and 360. That's why they are replacing it with NX so quickly. The nations favourite console this gen is ps4.

I don't think I own enough games to own a bad Wii U game. There are many quality games. I think there's a lot of bandwagon jumping when it comes to Wii U hating. It's not for all gamers, but then again it isn't trying to be. It does what it does well, but that does then reflect in the sales figures.
I'd never buy a game like COD or FIFA on my Wii U, always PS4 or Xbox One. Until Nintendo embraces third party in a better way, it will continue to have less sales. It's also a likely fact though that Wii U owners own a Wii U because they want something different and are bored of COD and FIFA, so wouldn't buy them anyway!
I hope their next console is a huge success.

Playing solo or with local people differentiates the quality (or lack there of) of certain Nintendo games.

I play PS4 more than the others. It's the best of this gen hands down. But I'll always have the next Nintendo console for their exclusives. All are highly polished games that never seem to lose their fun. And with mates you can't beat Mario Kart or Smash, where literally anyone can pick up and play regardless of skill level, enjoy the game, and even win!
With just under 14m Wii U's sold it will go down as a failed console (even less sold than the game cube) but anyone on the fence should buy one, even now I think. The price of these selects games makes it worth it!

Happy to concede there are flaws. Have readily documented a few myself on here. I am standing by "the nation's favourite console", I am sure we can agree to disagree on that. I accept you feel thats not a justified comment, but its my belief is all, and I have noted why I feel that.

Well, if you're an adult then you shouldn't be going around saying that the Wii U is "the nation's favourite console". It's not a lie to say that Nintendo fanboys only praise the Wii U without admitting it has flaws.

Ouch! I am an adult and will not be resorting to petty put downs to discuss or debate my points on here.

Not so much for gamers / Nintendo fans but fanboys love it.

Well I beg to differ, but thats ok to agree to disagree here. I am not looking at it from a sales point of view, but from a perspective of inclusiveness. Anyone can play the Wii U, and enjoy it together from your gran to your 5yr old. It is a console for the nation. It was built for everyone.

After the NX is out (March 2017) you can expect it to be reduced sub-£100. Wii's can be bought for very relatively cheap nowadays and what's great about them (first gen) is that they play GameCube games without any additional software.

It's not really the nation's favourite console, you have to get that through your mind, Noah.

The Wii U is a really interesting console. Some have been saying its dead for ages, and many are just desperate for it to die. Yet it still plods on, and people still play it. "nations favourite console" is not really a stretch, it is a special console that adults and wee kids alike adore.
So you have 3 consoles, but you must have a favourite one though?

Which nation is that? Without the sailing it could have been great but that in my experience ruined it and left me a bit tired -- almost ended up giving up on the game.

Yeah, I was being a bit too optimistic with PZ5. Still it would be nice to see it getting a reprint so every Wii U owner could own it if he/she wanted.
The American customers didn't even get a chance because over there it's digital-only yet Nintendo released Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash on physical format but not PZ5 which while is a very niche game it'd have been the title of the two folks woulda wanted more.

No chance of PZ5 or XCX being in the next wave of selects of being a select title ever. XCX will probably get an NX remaster and PZ5 is too niche to warrant a reprint.

And Wii U owners will have to wait roughly about 10 months too to get the new Zelda game so that kind of sucks but it's understandable as it's going to be a cross-release.
2016 is a very dry year for Wii U so Lego City Undercover + Wind Waker HD both for £30 is a really great deal, imo. The best part is that the cheapness isn't even visible when you put it with the other games as it only affects the front cover and even then it looks pretty good still.
Let's hope the next volume of Selects' include Mario Kart 8 (with all DLC content if possible), Mario 3D World, Project Zero 5, Hyrule Warriors (and too with all DLC content) and Xenoblade X. Each for only £16.99? What's not to like!

At least it's quicker than the GameCube version, and when you gain the ability to transport to certain places it makes it easier  Still a great game, however!
