Waitrose have changed their my picks with the my waitrose card
Whole chickens in the 3 for £10 deal are included so £4 each turns to £2.50 ish a chook
3 chickens = deal triggered
20% off £4 price = saving 80p chicken
Therefore £10 - £2.40 = £7.60 for 3 chickens
Waitrose are best supermarket for farm standards so the deal is at waitrose expense not chicken farming standards

Asda is £2.79 for medium chicken (up to about 1.65kg)
I always pick the heaviest chicken I can find.

I have this as a permanent pick as well.
Top tip: Whilst the chickens are all labelled 1.2KG, they also have an estimated cooking time on them (from 1hr 18min to about 1hr 32min). Pick the ones with the longest cooking time and you'll get the biggest chickens. They're about 1.6KG when you weight them at home.

The birds in Asda have the actual weight on the label and all are £2.79.
If the weight is not on the label, just take it to the Fruit & Veg section and weigh them there.

Lidl has whole chickens for £1.69 each. Not sure how big they are, cooking time was 1hr 50.

Is the "whole chicken equivalent" new name for a horse meat?

At least you would get 4 legs in a horse pack.
