Vodafone red value bundle includes Spotify, now tv or sky sports mobile
8gb data
Unlimited mins

2gb roaming data in 40 countries
£22.95/month
£161 cash back by redemption makes it equivalent to £9.50/month which seems like a good deal given Spotify is £10/month on its own

Voadfone are famous for billing errors (see MSE link ) I would get them to fix your spotify problem via online chat. I was billed £0.15 in October which was a bill I had to send to claim cashback. They had a daylight saving time error so theres no mention of the tariff etc that I needed to claim cashback, I get billed double line rental in November. I asked them to bill me this month and they said they couldn't. I emailed mobiles.co.uk they said the claim will be rejected then send in the next bill and it will be honoured. They are keeping an eye on my account for me. So far mobiles.co.uk have paid out one cheque and are easy to deal with and I had my spotify sorted by Vodafone so I'm very happy. Thanks OP.

Yes Mine is doing this now. I have contacted support - luckily I screenshotted the previous offer and they have agreed to honour it. However they have logged it with technical support so I am waiting 24hrs for a response. They told me to go ahead with the £9.99 offer and they will switch me to free but the £9.99 offer says server error. Mentioned this to support who were still on the webchat and they said its a reported error and will be running soon.

My experience of Vodafone, in Shropshire, has been good. You could always grab a PAYG sim from the £1 shop or supermarket and try before you buy proper. That's what I did before jumping to Vodafone

Well in central and south west London coverage is good. I can make calls and never had signal issues. All I will say if you're looking for data speeds it can be hit and miss at times and would take EE over Voda in these areas but their signal is a little more patchy.
I suggested to check open signal as it's open source and you didn't specify an area. All well and good giving my opinion but if you live in Newcastle it's a bit meaningless.
snappyfish
14 Jul 16#127
Can check signals everywhere on the web. Was hoping for real user comments. Someone who works with me, lives in same area has got a Voda tariff and new phone recently, drops calls all the time.
Open signal says good coverage.

mobiles.co.uk have possibly the worst order management system, along with Motorola. I ordered this deal and was rejected because of 'poor credit check'. This makes NO sense to me as I have an excellent credit rating (further verified by Noddle credit report).
So I Called them only to be told it is not a credit check I failed but some kind of internal test. And there could be 100s and 1000s of reason why that is but they can't tell me why because their system just spurts out a Yes or a NO.

All your allowance.
androidavis
9 Jun 162#113
Absolutely, you need to cancel, and then wait until the current billing period of your Spotify has ended. So say your Spotify monthly premium £9.99 subscription was taken on the 25th May, when you cancel the subscription now, you still have Spotify premium until the 24th June, after which you go to the free version of Spotify. That's when you can go through the Vodafone online process of getting Spotify premium for 1 year free.
TonyLeMesmer
9 Jun 161#112
I believe you have to cancel Premium before you can apply it to your account. So you can keep your playlists.

How does the Spotify deal work if you already have a Spotify account set-up? I pay £9.99 a month for Premium.

Thanks for sharing vajdad. I forgot you could probably do this on their website.

Hopefully this is helpful to a few of you. Contacted mobile.com to get my phone number ported and filled in the form and then nothing. so what the process is contact Vodafone (I used there chat) then you will need to fill in the form online but I would keep the tech person online as it doesn't always work. it is really important that you get the tech to check to make sure it has gone through as it is temperamental. Then it will take 3-4 days as I already had my PAC number.

Hi mate,
Managed to get my PAC code yesterday after half hour of pointless chat with them trying to sell me other deals which i clearly said not interested. But managed to get there at end. activated a new Giffgaff sim and submitted the Pac - requested for Monday (earliest working say I could select). Number transfer should be done same day hopefully. Then will request pac from GG same day. Then move back to voda!
Hopefully it'll be done by end of next week!
Beats waiting 30 days for moving to payg and wasting £10 top up.
Good luck with yours!

well I've taken delivery of my sim today and called Vodafone to check my account status. everything has been setup at the right price with no itemised billing added.
Vodafone have confirmed Spotify is on my account and that I should get a text message around an hour or two after inserting sim with instructions on how to claim it.
Created an online account with Vodafone and there, waiting, was my first bill. Again everything looked correct and charges listed as they should be. Also my bill showed the addition of the free Spotify.

1 Jun 161#70
Assuming your contact has ended they normally just keep you on a 30 day rolling until you say otherwise so there should be no exit fee.
I'm in the same boat with transferring number is concerned. Bank holiday hasn't helped but you're looking at a week. If you're really fortunate possibly as little as 3-4 days.
Technically you will only be without your number for a hour or so when switching networks but obviously its not convenient to be stuck on a PAYG sim for too long.
JaYy_dOg
1 Jun 16#69
Okay so need a bit of advise. I ordered this sim yday and is meant to be delivered today (1st june)
I was already on another redemption deal from last year April, which ended last month i completely forgot about (was a 12 month contract) and been charged for this month as i wasnt aware ive gone over my 12 months.. doh.
How do i go about cancelling this contract. Will i be charged any fees or anything? Or will they take me off the contract without any trouble?
Reason im asking this on here instead of directly to voda is because they tend to do stuff even when you dont ask them to (long story).
I cannot be phoneless so want to do everything asap, i.e. get this deal contract running with my number transfered over to the new contract. I did ask voda how can i go about transfering my number and was told i would need to move over to payg and top up atleast £10 for 30 days min... wtf??
What i thought of was to get another sim, different network. Get PAC code and cancel current contract and move to o2 or giffgaff payg (first network i thought of while ordering sim online) and then move number back onto my new contract sim.. am i right to think this will work to plan and be the quickest way to get my new contract up and running with current number? (maybe 2-3 days?)

I rang 3 for my PAC code on Sunday, they offered me unlimited mins and texts with 8gb of data for £9 a month, they couldn't match the spotify, nowTV, or Sky Sports. They said this offer was fantastic and wished me well with it adding that they hoped I'd come back to them in future.

So, I got the unlimited texts, unlimited mins and 16gb of data deal on hotdeaksuk only about 5 weeks ago. It works out to £11 pm after cash back. I'm thinking compared to this I lucked out and I'm glad I bit the bullet when I did. I get more data plus Spotify ! Some points of caution based on my Vodafone experience:
1) check your bill carefully, query everything. They charged me for data usage and they shouldn't have as I have 16gb inclusive every month and I was within my limit. They gave my money back plus £6.
2) I added the 08 number bolt on. They charged me for 08 numbers used after I'd added the bolt on. I queried that and the guy agreed with me but told me there's nothing he could do until the next bill date. I called up 2 days later and complained, got my money back plus another £6 credit.
You may have taken customer service for granted with other networks - with Vodafone - be vigilant !!
Good luck!

If I was you I'd serve notice and move to another provider on a one month rolling contract. Then you can go back to Vodafone as a new customer. If you stay with Vodafone then you can't take a deal like this, from mobiles.co.uk and port your number to the same provider. I'm sure, as well, that if you go to PAYG then you can't move back to contract, with same provider, for something like 6 months and keep your number.
Safest thing, as everything has changed in the world of mobile contracts, would be to ask Vodafone directly rather than rely on peoples opinions, mine included.
Falis

What's the best / easiest way to get existing Vodafone number transferred to this new Vodafone contract (I understand that you can't just port between Voda contracts)? My existing contract doesn't end until beginning of July so, although I've seen it suggested that use get Vodafone to transfer pay monthly to PAYG (with existing number) and then port from PAYG to new pay monthly Sim I would have thought that can only take place at end of existing contract and I would rather get number across as soon as poss - don't care about paying for last month of existing contract and not using it. Or is it easier / quicker to port to a PAYG sim on other network and then port back in to Vodafone - can I port out one day and then as soon as ported out then apply to port back in the same day the port has been completed?
chamblacha

You'll get a text/email from Vodafone once your account has been set up. They did have a choice between Spotify, Netflix, Now TV and Sky something or other but that might have ended.
This is a good deal in principle and if it all is set up properly, well worth it. However, you will need to check everything - order, dispatch, billing, add ons, at every stage because Vodafone is without doubt the most inept network there is. And don't trust the nonsense you get told on live chat which seems to be designed solely to make you go away. If that sounds bitter, it is from personal experience.

I have ordered so I can post here if there are any issues. However looking at previous mobiles.co.uk deals for Vodafone sim only the question has been asked about Spotify before and was confirmed as included if it is designated red or red value sim from 4gb (6months Spotify) and up. Standard features like Spotify inclusion and whether it's for 6 months or 12 months, or whether EU data roaming and inclusive away calls and texts is basically dictated by the type of Vodafone sim and the amount of data bundle, and not where you buy the sim

I see the deal no problem - I'm using safari mobile app. I tap on Go To Deal and can scroll through various plans and this 8gb deal is among them

Opening post
8gb data

Unlimited txts
2gb roaming data in 40 countries
£22.95/month
£161 cash back by redemption makes it equivalent to £9.50/month which seems like a good deal given Spotify is £10/month on its own

I didnt use my entertainment straightaway and signed up last month, now received a text subscription renewed at £9.99
if anyone has it, can someone send me the mobiles.co.uk page with details
I suggested to check open signal as it's open source and you didn't specify an area. All well and good giving my opinion but if you live in Newcastle it's a bit meaningless.
Open signal says good coverage.
It may have changed when the price changed a couple of days ago as some people appeared to get it originally.
I've gone for this but I'm only getting the option of one month free then £9.99 a month.
I'll give them a call and try to clarify
Anyone had this problem?
So I Called them only to be told it is not a credit check I failed but some kind of internal test. And there could be 100s and 1000s of reason why that is but they can't tell me why because their system just spurts out a Yes or a NO.
Would I need to create a new Spotify account (as I'd like to keep my playlists etc) or can you apply this to your existing username somehow?

For me signal has been good and download speeds better than Three. Positives do exists for Vodafone and I'm pleased I switched.
I called Vodafone on 191 and requested a number port on my new sim. They took the phone number I wanted to port over and the pac code and within a couple of minutes (this was Friday) said the port will take place next working day (Monday).
1 issue I have had is imessage (if you use an iPhone) it still seems to pick up my nee number and not my ported number.
An update on getting a number from voda to ee and back to voda. Finally got my number on ee but need to wait 48hours after transfer before I can get a PAC from them. You're looking at a week and a half if anyone is looking to do this. (Transfers only work on week days)
Just need to claim my cash back now. Blinding.
So, so far so good.
Will keep you posted.
I'm leaving for France on Saturday and could do with the free roaming, don't have time to wait for a SIM to arrive.
Overall its going to be 2 weeks from requesting PAC from Voda before getting back to them on this deal. Hopefully you have better luck.
Thanks
Recieved my new voda and other sim today. So will be making the transfer soon.
Let me know how you get on!
Very grown up of them unlike in the past when it was nigh on impossible to get a PAC code from them...
Anyhow I've just signed up for this deal. I'm told there's a card in the welcome pack for you to select the free Spotify, Sky Sports or NowTV. Let's see how I get on.
Good luck!
It can take 2 days to get the PAC code but Voda gave it to me over the phone. Up to 2 days to transfer to the "new" network. You're looking at least a week in porting the number to one network and back again.
____________
I think it's because the total in your basket for payment comes to zero. You'll only start paying anything when Vodafone start the monthly direct debit withdrawals.
BANKHOL15
as for customer services I've been with all the networks over the years and I find virgin to be one of the best
Safest thing, as everything has changed in the world of mobile contracts, would be to ask Vodafone directly rather than rely on peoples opinions, mine included.
I'm sure everyone has a bad opinion of all the main network operators and some have had dire experiences, but the deal is what it is. If you're happy then jump ship else stay where you are. There's no such thing as a free lunch
Have some heat.

That's exactly how I see this deal too, and its quite incredible really. We also pay £9.99 month for spotify in this household already, so this deal in effect gives us free: unlimited calls and texts, 8gb data, EU calls and texts and 2gb EU data a month.
If my quidco goes through, someones also buying me a beer for having all this free stuff

Appreciate the advice and sharing this. From reading some peoples experiences with Vodafone I am certainly not going to assume everything is being set up correctly and keep tabs on things. If this goes through smoothly and without a hitch (as it should be) then I will count myself lucky as well as happy.
Q: Can I submit a bill online?
A: Yes - You can submit your bills to us online by visiting your My Account section. You should then click on the 'My Cashback' tab and follow the instructions.
Q: Can I submit an online version of my bill?
A: Yes - You can submit an online version of your bill to us by visiting your My Account Section. You should then click on the 'My Cashback' tab and follow the instructions. Your online bill must display your name, address, mobile number, tariff and the bill date.

The important bit is the plan name as that confirmed the spotify and the usage abroad.
The best way to think about this plan is paying for 12 months Spotify and getting all the data and usage free.
____________
I have ordered so I can post here if there are any issues. However looking at previous mobiles.co.uk deals for Vodafone sim only the question has been asked about Spotify before and was confirmed as included if it is designated red or red value sim from 4gb (6months Spotify) and up. Standard features like Spotify inclusion and whether it's for 6 months or 12 months, or whether EU data roaming and inclusive away calls and texts is basically dictated by the type of Vodafone sim and the amount of data bundle, and not where you buy the sim
___________
Just checked and as this is an 8gb red value plan it comes with 12 months Spotify.
