Debenhams are offering great exchange rates (seem to be at or near the top on http://travelmoney.moneysavingexpert.com/ ) and they will also give you a £5 voucher off a £20 spend that day (grab your beach towel\bikini\swimshorts while you are there :-) ).
It says you might have to show the webpage or print the coupon but the Manchester branch knew all about it and gave me the voucher straight off.
Handy for everyone heading off on hols soon.

The difference between with a Debs card and without was minimal since I only changed a bit and will get a better rate in Turkey!

I changed £50 from pounds into Turkish Lira. Got the best rate going and bought a new suitcase with a fiver off.
I did use the voucher but rate's had changed since I printed it that morning, so rate had dropped but was still the best rate. I checked when I got back home.

aye, bit of con like. I swapped GBP for Euros last year, and I had a month to use, this time around is same day which is no use really.
Used debenhams ang got a good rate .£5 off £20 voucher must be used on same day against full price items only

I imagine the closer we get to the 23rd the worse the rate will get now. If we leave it will get really bad!!

Travelex do great in advance rates (if you can get their web site to work - once they took my money 3 times....) don't go to their counter in airport as a lot lower rate.

As I don't live in London this isn't a "no brainer".I'd have to pay £4.90 delivery for every £2,500 I exchange.

Yes, valid only for that day, and cannot be spent on sale items, only full price items.

can you pay for currency with gift cards? I've had a look on the site but can't find that detail.

£1000 = €1265 for non card holder
£1000 = €1287 for card holder
Travelex - pre-purchase & collect from Airport

No faffing around trying to get to debenhams, paying to park which cost me more than the value of the £5 voucher

Use Revolut & withdraw the cash (for free) abroad at an ATM. You get bank rate, which is currently 1.3.

Worth noting OP that the £5 off £20 voucher is only valid that day i.e. you need to have something in mind to put it towards.

1.292 is excellent, I normally check rates at MSE for delivery or collection, it's rare that Debenhams are on the page but they are now.

I always get my currency at Debenhams but I have always needed to take the coupon to get my £5 voucher - which you can spend anywhere in store.

I exchanged £ to € yesterday at 1.292. By far the best rate yesterday.....without the debenhams card. I got the higher rate for using http://www.travelmoneymax.com and showing them the email....plus the £5 off £20 spend in store!

Rates are only competitive if you have a Debenhams card.

Yes you have to 'buy' £50 of currency but you'll spend that on your holidays. The voucher is for £5 off a £20 spend in store.

So shouldnt this be £5 off a £50 spend cos you have to order £50 of travel money to get voucher.
