Really? That's rubbish, I thought pretty much everything on Direct sold by tesco was part of it. Oh well, still a good price anyway, just have to find something else to spend my vouchers on!

I got this on boost last November when it also dropped to £49. Paid £17 + points.
I got one of these last time and posted it on here but apparently some people were having problems with failers but mine has been running perfect so no complaints and heat from me.

Anyone care to comment on reliability of these Toshiba's? My last two stopped working after 13 months. (My 7 year old Seagate still works fine though.)

Is it just me or is this hard drive 'laggy' when playing video files? Compared to my other external USB 3.0 hard drive (seagate), playing high definition files skip frequently. Possibly faulty?

not as an internal drive.

I have been using one of these since xmas and it's been perfect. Great value drive IMO.

Depends if the USB connection is soldered on inside or just a SATA connection.
Soldered is becoming more common in the new models unfortunately.

Good price but my last one failed after 3-4 months. I wouldn't risk it again. Shame, because I'm pretty desperate for a 2TB drive now

There's some photos of the drive inside the case on Amazon Reviews in case anyone was wanting to use it elsewhere (I wouldn't know how!): https://www.amazon.co.uk/review/R1PXKH7AU10S29

Nope i had this idea but when you open the drive the usb/ cable connector is soldered to the harddrive itself, in otherwords you cannot remove it!, lucky i didnt damage the casing, so in the end i used this drive to back up my PS4.

Nope, the USB/ Cable connector is soldered to the drive, so no good :disappointed:

2 year UK warranty from Toshiba on this particular portable hard drive.
Good price but high failure rate

Although a little bit more expensive. Seagate Expansion 2TB available for about 60 quid will do the job for the PS4. Loads of guides available online. Had mine in 6 months with no problems. A quick search has Argos , Currys and a few others at that price.

It seems Tesco direct keeps giving me an error on them not having enough stock.
Now I hope Amazon will do the price match and let me order from them instead.

Tempted, but after having a WD passport fail, I don't think i'd risk buying one of these without an internal drive with a regular sata connection.

Last year i was in two minds to get this 2TB portable at about a similar price. In the end i plumped for a millitary portable HD as used by the armed forces. It cost about £90 but its worth it. It has fallen from the table onto the floor and still works as well as being sat on by missus on the sofa and still works.
