With an O2 (Tesco, GiffGaff) sim I have to go out of the house & walk 30 metres down the road to get even a single bar of signal......the irony is I can see the M62 from my house ...... Our village is effectively a small town .... Mobile network coverage is not great & no sign of 4G coming close yet

I live in a village.....I get no o2 or Vodafone even 2G in my house but get 3G om EE (just).........I get excellent 3G on 3 Mobile.......so for me for data I have to choose 3
Certainly where I live Hutchinson have the best network

Interesting question as the dongle is not quite the same as a MiFi ,,,,,,I would say it should as Wingles are effectively non self powered Mifi though .....might be a question to pose on a 3 mobile forum

No.....Trio sim means it can be used as standard, micro or nano sim ........you are not going to get 9Gb for under £10.....original post say £3.33 per Gb not £1 per Gb

Surely only an EE employee could come out with that carp. EE aren't terrible but Three have easily bettered EE for customer service and have bettered O2 for coverage (in places I've been). Three aren't the cheapest like they used to be and I'll consider switching but the fact all their coverage is 3G or 4G I'd rather pay the premium. My work phone has had EE and O2 sims and it's a pain how much of their signal is still 2G.

and before any of u guys say to me about VoLTE and free roaming in Europe well EE have voLTE too! they also give addons for Europe so Three aren't competitive?! also I don't see their new mobile watch will.I.am succedding?! really come on chances are you won't be allowed to wear it at work anyway and people will look weird at u having a convo and looking back at a watch... lol

As you are unlikely to get 4G abroad even on a MiFi you could used the ZTE 3G device (on O2 but unlockable for £1.75)....a deal on this forum a few days ago for £11.99.....will get you 3G speeds .....I use a Huawei 3 Mobile Mifi & get excellent speeds even though it is only 3G

Yes - i can't see how they can block tethering abroad on a data sim.
Tethering is what it is for. They sell them with MIfI devices that solely work by tethering your device ( phone , tablet , PC etc ) to them.
I think some may be confusing it with the phone sim - on which you are not supposed to tether

Rockfish is probably correct, I can however confirm 100% that tethering abroad in a stock ROM PHONE is not allowed with this SIM, three actively block it :-(

Huh?? I bought one of the 12Gb ones specifically to use abroad. How can tethering not be included. If you use it in a mifi device, how can tethering be blocked? Did you find this out by experience?

Just to clear up the tethering issue.
These work fine if you are tethering in the UK, however for some strange reason Three have decided to block tethering on these SIMS when used abroad! (This REALLY annoys me, WTF difference does it make if I pull my 12GB via a phone or hotspot? It makes no difference and Three still have to pay for that bandwidth whether it's been used via phone or hotspot! Makes no bloody sense!! /rant )

Yes I've just sent two of then out to my parents in Spain and they work great.
No 'official' tethering allowed abroad though so you will need a rooted phone and some system hacking to get that working abroad I'm afraid!

I have one in an unlocked 4G mobile for that purpose....also use it as a portable MiFi by tethering but that is in the UK....I would take a MiFi abroad .....but stuck in your phone it's fine for data that device even in Spain

These are DATA only sims designed for tethering....I use these in my MiFi all the time
Heat added not bad no good to me as they don't do tethering
but thank you for that will probably go for the 6GB EE one

Just received a Homtom HT3 Pro phone (dual SIM) from Banggood for my son's birthday so he'll have a PAYG SIM for texts and phonecalls (virtually none I guess) and this SIM for Data. All in around £80 for a new phone and a year's data.
