Bought a punnet ( 8 ) today at lunchtime and was hoping to try a couple, sadly they were rockhard.Thats when i noticed you need to ripen them at home for 2 or 3 days. This type of fruit never seems to be of much flavour but at 69p you havent lost a kings ransom.

Do they eat fruit in Grimsby? I thought it was only Toffee Apples and Banana Fritters!

Why would there be any comments about sugar?? Apricots are whole foods. The sugar in them are locked in fibre and cellular material, and slow released into the bloodstream as with all fruit and whole foods. You cannot compare sugar in any fruit with a mars bar.

That depends on the fruit though. Grapes are 16% sugar and have very little fibre. A banana has the same glycemic index and Glycemic load as a small glass of Coke.
With the amount of anti-sugar coverage in the media and online, I think some people are starting to think fruit is bad too.
Of course having some fruit is better than a choc bar, but there's no reason you can't enjoy one every now and then. That's my excuse anyway.

Been buying a lot of fruit from Tesco. Surprised to find that their own brand Suntrail Farms is very good quality, and very cheap when on offer. In Wrexham there were also Nectarines and Peaches for 69p. Need to be ripened in the bowl.
These prices are cheaper than the market, and the biggest advantage is that you can select your own. Not be fobbed off with over ripe stuff.

Give a man a box of apricots and you feed him for a day. Give them man access to a Tesco and he can feed himself for a lifetime
Opening post
Was £2.00 Now 69p.
Let the "Sugar Brigade" comments commence!
