Bought it month ago and recently I received an email which says that this 5 port usb hub is on sale for 7 quid off. I bought it for 14 quid and now it's 50% off! Its size is pretty small just like a deck of credit cards and is just perfect. It looks good and appears to work well and that's what counts.

If it's 40W power, and 5V output, then it can only be 8A... (P = VI | I = P/V | 40/5 = :sunglasses:

Great, thanks very much. Seems a much cheaper solution than buying individual chargers 8-)

I think I asked this on another deal thread, but didn't get a reply. Would these chargers be suitable for powering multiple Raspberry Pis simultaneously?

I would imagine it would be fine, the original 256mb Pi that I have required a 1 amp supply and the newer Pi's I believe use less power so this should power 3 or 4
But that's for used ones - for new it's nearly twice the price of this one

I only need a dual usb out, ideally 2 x 2W - does anyone have any suggestions for reputable brands to have a look at? It's for when I go away travelling so I want to keep the size and weight to a minimum

The advantage of these types of chargers is that a european figure-8 A/C cable connector will mean using it in Europe without having to have a bulk UK plug plus UK->Europe adaptor.
The same applies for the US (with a US A/C figure-8 adaptor) because it's voltage ranges from 110-240V. Practically, speaking if you can find a figure-8 that fits the country you're going to you'll be able to use it there.

Could anybody expand on "Portable Travel Power Adapter" description (for the Icefox item?). I am specifically interested in the mains socket: does the mention of "travel" suggest the item is supplied with multiple mains connectors for different regions? Thanks.

I think it's to do with size of item based on the images its supplied with UK plug.
I found and bought Sabrent 60 Watt (12 Amp) 10-Port for £7.02 (New £25.99) from Warehouse Deals and the UK reviews look good but the US reviews look better  1 left in stock if anyones interested.

I'd stick with Anker for an extra £12 - just not worth the risk IMHO

Looking at the pictures on Amazon, they're potentially the same product

There is a similar one for £4.99 (add-on item), 'icefox' brand if I remember correctly.
