Just finished FFX - and started FFX-2.
And 1 hour later I stopped playing FFX-2, likely never to play it ever again.
I really enjoyed FFX back in the day, and thoroughly enjoyed playing it again now. It's not my favourite in the series (6, 7, 8, and 9 all surpassed it) but it's a good story, the sphere grid is inspired, and blitzball was always fun.
I'd never played it's sequel before (and in fact knew pretty much nothing about it other than it existed), and was really looking forward to playing it, but it's horrendous. It appears to be only three characters, all three are incredibly annoying, and they're defeating the forces of evil through the joint mediums of dance and changing clothes. WTAF.

ffx is the only ff game ive replayed over a dozen times. Each to their own opinion but it was definitely a milestone which set higher benchmarks for future ff games in terms of gfx, playthrough, AUDIO (characters actually spoke), story, sidequests and mini games!

Superb game. Never played it before and I'm glad I waited. It looks superb on my GTX970. Loving the ability to make yourself invincible or turn off random battles altogether, killing the grind but keeping the story.

The second-worst in the offline series in terms of replayability from scratch, but thats mainly because of the amount of side missions if you did them all, that laugh and the linearity. You really wouldnt want to start again  well worth the £12 though

I'm not saying the games buggy, but, in the pre-game FMV, Tidus has no face, just hair and eyebrows :man:

From what I recall FF12 was OK, FF13 was poor but 13-2 was pretty good - at least I enjoyed it a lot more anyway

30 fps, I believe some of the game functionality (e.g. Lightning dodging minigame?) may have been tied to the frame rates, so it would not have been a simple adjustment.

3rd best ff game! Plenty to do end game too but a bit grindy. Excellent music and combat system. After this they went DOWN hill....
Just remember to use the unrestricted sphere grid!

I'll find out tonight if it can handle it  I discovered the onboard couldn't handle the latest Hitman game on lowest settings, but I'm hoping FFX on low will run smoothly enough to let me play a bit... maybe...
CPU is an i5 6600k and RAM is 16gb 2400 mhz ddr4 Corsair Vengeance so should be alright on that end  Once I add the GPU, my baby will be complete: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/kCB7rH
*edit* I wonder if an ATI HD6450 1GB could handle it... I could take that from my previous PC and it might tide me over until the 1070...

On the Steam page, it shows the Nvidia 9600 GT (with 512MB VRAM) as a minimum GPU. I'm fairly confident a decent Intel HD 4000 is fairly similar so you SHOULD be fine as long as your cpu is a good i5 and you have moderately fast RAM. You'll be scraping the bottom of the graphics settings though so, I'd hold off playing it until you get that GTX 10 series card
I'll be curious to see if I can play this with onboard graphics (LOL), since I haven't got a GFX card in my new gaming build :P Hurry up GTX 1070 and be released >.<

Damnit. Just remembered I have a 27% voucher. (Can't be used in conjunction with other vouchers.) Could've saved me another few pence.
Damn my eagerness to buy a game and stick it in the backlog* without thinking about it.
*To be fair, I'm mainly playing retro and jrpg games lately, and I loved FFX so this one will actually get played soon.
