Hardened players will have to forget everything they thought they knew about DARK SOULS™ II.
Online play has been enhanced with the addition of a special item to regulate souls acquired in battle - it’s now possible to match up more consistently online. The number of players who can participate in an online session has also been increased, from 4 to 6 people, completely changing the online play dynamic.
DARK SOULS™ II: Scholar of the First Sin brings the franchise’s renowned obscurity & gripping gameplay to a new level. Join the dark journey and experience overwhelming enemy encounters, diabolical hazards, and unrelenting challenge.
It does come with all the DLCs. As someone who has played ALL the Souls games (except Blood borne), the best game is obviously gking to be subjective. Dark Souls 2 is a great game if you don't have it, get it.

Souls fan will say this was the least preferred souls game out of 4, but IMO this was the best. Hot for the price, shame I am looking for a PS4 copy myself.
I was under the impression Scholar of the First Sin includes all the DLC from the season pass, is that not how it works? Either way I'm getting towards the end of Dark Souls: PtDE so this is actually pretty tempting (although I have a feeling it'll only get cheaper with DS 3 out).

Turns out this is already included on the Scholar of the first sin so you dont need to buy this one.

I'm not quite sure either as I'm one of the ppl who are waiting on the sidelines to jump into Dark Souls series.
I also thought DS2 SFS also includes all DLC but price does not reflect that. Perhaps some DS veteran would share some of their knowledge on this.
You could be right for waiting for DS3 comes out. Trying to keep myself from buying but its a tempting price.

Nope. Dark Souls 2 and Dark Souls 2 Scholar of the First Sin are considered two different games. If you were to buy normal dark souls 2 you need to buy the season pass, but SotFS is all inclusive. As far as I'm aware you also can't play multiplayer between the two or transfer saves to make it even more confusing.

I enjoyed DS2 but I hate the remixed version of Scholar of the First Sin, unfortunately this is the cheapest version of the game as the vanilla version is 2-3x the price :disappointed:

It does include everything. It's like getting the Game of Year/Ultimate/Complete edition of a game, except Scholar of the First Sin is also a completely remastered version of Dark Souls II, taking advantage of 64bit and DirectX 11. In console land, the original Dark Souls II was released on Xbox 360 and PS3 and Scholar of the First Sin was the Xbox One/PS4 remaster. (I had the same question when I bought it recently.)
Remixed? Hate? What? Why? What's changed in this version apart from the technical improvements? (Genuine question as I haven't played either yet - still struggling at the beginning of Demon's Souls!)

Better than 3 and runs like a dream!
Scholar adds so much to the standard game just get it if you havent and wait dor 3 to drop in price. 3 is very short

Basically they've gone back and changed the majority of the enemy placements in the game, either for lore reasons (the Heide Knights are actually in Heide now) or to improve the difficulty curve in some areas. One or two places come out worse for it, but for the most part it's a significantly better game than the original
They also addressed one of the biggest complaints about DS2 being very linear (which seems nitpicky after 3) by blocking off certain areas with minibosses or locked doors you'll have to return to later. New shortcuts have also been added, and a previous area has now been rendered completely optional. So quite a large update!
The DLC content is worth the price of admission alone though... some of the best level design in the trilogy imo.

Is the online still active on this btw? Friends been bugging me to get 3 but £30 is a bit steep for it I feel :stuck_out_tongue: Could do with learning the game before 3 drops a little in price. I have DS1 but... screw that game

same thought here. can't stand with the graphics of ds1. looks to outdated for me

To be honest graphics wise it looks alright. Terrible considering when it was made but I've played and enjoyed worse. The bugs are what get me. 4 times in 1 hour I fell through the floor while fighting, 1 of those times while doing quite well and the second of those that was the final straw was running through the enemies trying to grab my souls. It takes a game that just says F you to begin with and multiplies it by 10 when that stuff happens that frequently.

Nice, just bought a copy, waited the 10 minutes and now get a pop up saying there's no keys left.
What a joke. They could just say it's out of stock instead of taking my money. There's a thread on reddit saying the same thing.

Warning do not buy this, they do not have any keys left.
Will they refund if they cannot provide a key?

They should provide you a refund if you dont get a key.
If you pay using paypal, you can raise a ticket and I'm sure you will get the refund.
Can you tell me the exact wording of the "no key left" notice e.g. whether it is indicating that they dont have it right now but will fulfil it soon or they dont have it and they will refund.
If it is the latter, I'll expire the deal. Thanks.

There have been a few Reddit threads opened in regards to this, but the automated response I get from the site is as below:
Thread needs expiring anyway, it's not available now which is about 10 hours too late. Still waiting on confirmation of a refund.
Not had a problem with these guys before but will avoid from now on.

Just got an email from them. I'll post it here fwiw:
Hello
Apologies for not delivering you "Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin" key yet. Please allow me to explain what happened, and how it will be fixed.
1. We will fill all orders for the product. If you bought the product, you will of course receive your key. We are an authorized store and are constantly in contact with our publishers, so getting more keys is not a problem.
2. Our sale was so popular that our system unfortunately experienced a glitch under the heavy load. Due to this, some customers were unfortunately not assigned a key (even though we still had them in stock).
3. In fact the sale was so popular that have now run out of keys, so we unfortunately cannot supply keys to these customers immediately. However:
4. Our partners at Bandai Namco are already in the process of generating new keys for us. We expect them to arrive in the next 24 hours. Everyone is working hard at keeping the delay as short as possible. (Again, apologies that it happened in the first place.)
5. The game has currently been removed from sale, since we have no keys available at the moment. Once we received those, the game will go back on sale. The discount is scheduled to last until Monday 1pm CEST, so the customers who are still looking forward to buy the game at the discount, should have time to do so.
Again, please accept our apologies. We did not intend to sell a product without having keys (as you can see by the fact that we currently removed it from sale). Rather, this sale was so popular that it exposed a technical issue that we were previously unaware of. We will fix this. We will keep you up to date when new information comes in.
