Saw this at the weekend with the wuaki 99p rental deal posted last week. Fantastic film and performances.

I also watched it for 99p on Wuaki. Pretty decent but I was expecting something as good as 'All the President's Men' after all the hype, it wasn't.

Me too. It was class. Ruffalo is superb in it and Schreiber was a pleasant surprise since I can only ever picture him as ball breaker Ray Donovan!

Watched it sometimes ago - boring, boring, boring. Too much hype imho.

Good film, don't see the point buying though being tied to one company (Amazon) same with Google and Apple.

Download to keep? In what format, resolution, DRM, etc? Something I can stick on the NAS and watch from Kodi?

You can only download to supported fire tablets. Cannot download to fire tv, sticks or any other non amazon devices (unless you have an amazon account on them and it is registered in your main amazon account as a supported/known device).

I honestly didn't know you could still rent movies. Thought that would have been done away with by now with internet shopping, streaming, satellite TV and what not.

I thought "The Truth" with Cate Blanchett was a much more engaging, interesting and story-driven journalist movie.

I'm not commenting on the film (as I haven't seen it; (but I'm sure I will love it when I do)), I'm commenting on your 'superior' view. I have read the excellent reviews on IMDb and Rotten Tomatoes and was wanting to read comments here on HUKD. Yours was a comment that seemed not to accept that others might have an opinion that is different than yours!

(That superiority complex is why I have Spark on my 'ignore' list. There is absolutely nothing wrong with having differing opinions about films such as Spotlight - and it is pretty ludicrous to shout down opinion simply because the subject matter apparently demands it. You can criticise a film like this without it disrespecting the subject matter...).

A film has to be more than the sum of its parts. Yes, the topic is powerful....but the delivery, in my opinion, was not. It was tedious

Hmmmm......Boyhood springs to mind. I've not seen Spotlight so can't comment and will watch it. But the amount of people that loved Boyhood when I thought it was one of the worst, boring, apologetic films I've ever seen. And that won Oscars. And no, I don't like Marvel films. But Whiplash, loved that.

I loved Whiplash too. I had no idea what it was when I stuck it on....but it is one of the only things Jazz related that has ever captivated me.

Yeah total snoozefest this, Mark Ruffalo didn't turn into The Hulk once despite losing his temper a couple of times.

Got about 40 minutes into this and gave up - it's just boring.
