I had a SONY M4,the internal screen magically cracked on its own.Sent it back and they refused to fix it under warranty as they said that the crack on the outer screen was evidence of an impact . I Thought it odd as there was no crack. When I got the phone back I **** you not the said crack was in fact a hair.

Get a Z3 instead. Better battery life and overall far quicker. I did the upgrade path from Z1 to Z3 to Z5 and wish I'd stopped at the Z3 as that was the best one by a mile. Z5 is not that great and seems awful slow in comparison to the other two.

I bought my Z2 a few months after release, used it happily until about a month ago when I was on the sofa and heard a cracking noise.
Turned my phone over and watched the back crack by itself. It's cracked internally as well, hasn't come through to the surface. Never heard of the cracking issue until that happened and I googled it. Weird.

I've had z1 for two and a half years now, no issues (well except for the flaps needing replaced). I'm now at the point of considering a new phone, yet keep asking myself "how exactly will this be better than my z1 on a day to day basis?"

I paid one hundred sovs for a secondhand Z3....it's a great phone - the price on this deal was good, but I couldn't justify another 230 sovs just to be able to give my phone a fingering.
