The most ridiculous programme I have had the mispleasure to waste time watching.
As if people would let themselves be killed and commit suicide etc... Just for the sake of a motorcycle club.

You really know nothing about Motorcycle Clubs do you...

The most idiotic comment that I've had the displeasure of reading on here for quite some time.
Go and do a bit of research on club-life, then come and discuss when you actually have a clue.
Heat added by the way, great price for a fabulous series, with the added bonus of being blu ray!

"Go and do a bit of research on club-life, then come and discuss when you actually have a clue."

Yes "club-life" means letting yourself get killed when you are a single parent and have two kids to look after.
As if that would happen in real life. Utterly ridiculous.

What do you recommend us watching? Eastenders?..

Sorry, you must be well-read in the field of motorcycle gangs. Have you read anything on the happenings within the Hell's Angels, the Outlaws or any of the 1% clubs? Many members are ex military, many just love their club enough to put their life on the line. Don't comment on what you don't possess the faintest clue about.
Yes, SOA is obviously dramatised for a television series, it would be pretty crap if you watched episode after episode of nothing happening eh. But, I won't waste my time trying to educate someone so narrow-minded as to think someone's love for their brotherhood wouldn't lead them to give their own life for what they believe in. I suppose no-one in the Bloods or the Crips has ever given their life for their gang, in that case.

Eastenders has more realistic storylines and better quality acting...and that is saying something.

I have to agree with some of the acting. I started watching this week and straight off I noticed the guy with the long blonde hair is terrible.
Apart from some of the acting I am enjoying it. Heat added op.

We are talking about the ridiculousness of the scripts of this programme - the ending for example is laughable.
On the other note, If you feel the need to belong to a gang as a grown man then that is your choice.
Me, I prefer making my own decisions and not being told what to do by others whereas some people find security in a herd and a hierarchical social structure.

It does start off quite well but soon falls over the cliff into farce when people start killing and dying for "the club" which consists of around 8-10 social misfits with the IQ's of a paper cup, yet stab each other in the back at every opportunity.

You were commenting on the fact that no-one within a bike club would put their life on the line when they are a single parent with two children, which is absolutely ludicrous. of course they have done, and still do.
I have in no way purported to be affiliated or enlisted within a 'gang', I was merely using it as an example, as it is a similar set-up without the motorcycles.
I've studied motorcycle clubs for quite some time and just what you find so unbelievable about the storylines of corruption, drug-running, weapons trading, gang-warfare etc. I'm not quite sure. As for the members, you will find many examples of what you suggest would never happen if you care to open a book on the matter.
Hierarchical social structures are what compelled people to join these clubs (and still does), a sense of belonging and a militarian system which many longed for on their return from the second world war, in the clubs' original forms. Don't be so quick to judge: you may not like it but it is both in history and existent in our present time. Dramatised, yes, fabricated nonsense, absolutely not. I'll waste no more of my time. if you don't like it, dont watch it and certainly don't spout nonsense.

Ok, let's look at ridiculousness of the script:
*****Spolier Alert********
Opies wife gets murdered by a member of "the club". Opie accepts it was an accident.
Opies dad then gets murdered by the leader of "the club". Opie flips for a little then calms down for the good of "the club".
Opie then let's himself be killed "for the club", this is the same "club" that has killed his wife and father.
Ridiculous.
Jax commits suicide to stop his boy following in his footsteps in joining "the club", leaving his son orphaned.
Why not just walk away from "the club" and bring your son up like any normal human being, who is capable of sentient thought, would?
Again, utterly ridiculous.
I could go on but you appear to be conflating this farce of a TV series with real life.

Wow ! What's ridiculous is that you didn't like it so early on yet watched all 7 seasons !!!!
If you don't like TV Drama (which this is) I suggest just watching actual documentary's !
Ps . 92 episodes IMDb rating 8.6/10 is all anyone considering needs to look at.

Loved this.
If you were a fan of The Shield you can play 'spot the shield actor' whilst watching this, and its got some sneaky cameos in it.

I think you are making missing the point - this is a comedy, not a drama, and a very bad one at that.
