Non-halal is not ritually slaughtered. They do not slaughter the meat according to the laws of people of the book. Only Kosher meat and some greek orthodox slaughter meat according to people of the book in the uk. In the US it is only Kosher and Amish meat that is ritually slaughtered, and hence fit for Muslims to consume- the rest is cannot be eaten by muslims.

Nothing beats mums homemade samosas.
If you live in an Asian area there's always somebody who sells them from home.
Still doesn't beat mums but better than the company crap.

Shazans is halal junk, they have been caught previously adding stuff to the food without declaring it, the food is not tayyib. I also don't understand why we insist halal food. The food of the land can be eaten. People of the book.

If halal is not important to you - the lamb samosa's are the closest youll get to a home made samosa

The closest you will get to home made is unlikely to be found in an Asda freezer, 'meat' sourced in Bosnia, all popped into a machine with minimal human interaction & ending up in your deep fryer 2 years later.....

Need to be deep fried. Very unhealthy. I have bought Punjabi ones which can just be heated and no need to fry ,though they cost a bit more.

That is the reason I never buy any of these products- deep frying anything is bad. Making your own samosa is easy enough. The pastry is available in Asian type stores and I make a lot at once and store them in the freezer and then cook them in the oven when reqd.

interestingly traditional samosas sold on the streets of India have the potatoes with skin on.

This brand of samosas are very poor quality hardly any meat inside and poorly made some of them fall apart when frying

I'm always disappointed with the quality of these. best to grab some spring roll sheets and make the mix at home and start making some. I bought an air fryer and it's saved me an early grave....I hope.

If you are a pick n mix Muslim who thinks kosher and orthodox Christian is acceptable then you will find meat slaughtered to EU regulations is the same. The animal is always stunned (made to faint with electric shock) before it's throat it cut to drain the blood. There is no chanting though. Game such as duck, veal, pheasants are usually shot though but I have seen people in Muslim countries shoot them for food and when queried they don't seem to care.
