Not sure on this one but I picked up a none smart one this size last year and thought it was a bargain for a branded tv that size at £250. Was back at store three hours later it was awful! Bleed everywhere white from around bezel that changed if you pressed on the plastic and so bad you could even see it on colour images!
May be just a bad batch but looked to me like it was just a poor panel so would back up change in manufacturer, really didn't expect it from sharp they used to be the leaders!
Took it back and chances my hand at a dig home tesco on brand one and wasn't expected by much but was blown away. Ok it's no Samsung or Sony contender but more that good enough for day to day viewing and at £199 for a 50" I could't ask for more.
And I am a brand snob so this went against all my instincts but wanted a big tv lol

Yup, technically a UMC, but made in Poland in the former SHARP factory.
