excellent set. I purchased these last time they were on sale at LIDL...
would I be correct in assuming they are selling these again?

When buying spirit levels, if possible, always check that they read true before going to the checkout. I don't know about these but some cheap ones I've seen are hopeless.

As someone who has bought a fair few lidl/Parkside tools, I'd like to think I'm unbiased. I have a set of these, bought last year, but unfortunately not all of the spirit levels are true. Putting them on top of one another results in misaligned bubbles. Perhaps mine is an anomaly but thought I'd mention as I'm considering paying more for one that is hopefully more accurate!

If you want to check if a level is true just put it on a level surface and look at bubble. Then turn it around 180 degrees and check again. If readings are the same it's good if not throw away.

but if its not true then how will you know if the surface you put it on is level to begin with !!!???

Still using the Stabila that my late father bought. I'm guessing it must be at least 40 years old since he died in 1992. Best bit is everytime I use it brings a smile as I think of him. I doubt many of these Parkside spirit level will be around in even 15 years time

It doesn't matter if the surface isn't true / flat as long as the bubble is in the same position when you turn it through 180 degrees.

+1 here, even on jobs I have to explain this to people as they seem to think you have to get the bubble in the centre first before turning 180

Yes cheap levels soon go through them. You'll be lucky if they last 12 months.

Being a German company, unfortunately only metric. But you can get compatible imperial ones on eBay.

They used to do 1m ones in poundland (for £1 obviously). That was great. Since I can't find them anymore though, I think I might take up this offer. Voted hot.
