I bought this in May.
In 2 months, its taken a hammering. Used a monitor with laptop connected to it 24/7.
And Chromecast in the other HDMI port for sports streaming via Mobdro.
Can't fault it in any department.
Has coped with fast moving ball sports way better than I expected.
Not needed to contact ao.com since buying so can't comment on them....long may it continue :sunglasses:

It seems to the the inbuilt free-view as its fine with pc / console input and SD but in tennis football in HD gets bad with stutter ...was told a firmware should be available soon
Its a great TV for the price even plays .MKV files plays alot of extensions tbh supports Ntfs files system too

I've bought this based on this post (thanks guys!) and its brilliant. I've not used the freeview stuff, just on demand like YouTube and Netflix/Plex with a Chromecast plugged in and the quality is great. I've also used my steamlink to stream my PC games to the TV and they look great.
Should be hotter IMO

Not tried MP4. I use a now tv box with a plex server and all hd content streams perfect as do all catch up on it iplayer etc. Just play with pic settings as it makes a difference for sure. Not nr tv to say what they are. Though my perfect is not everyone's perfect if you know what I mean as its in a bright conservatory. I can't fault it apart from poor sound. I have an lg 50 inch smart plasma in other room and hardly use it now.

I use a zgemma sat box with mine and hd is perfect. Not tried the built in freeview but sounds like it's the tuner rather than the display since its fine with another format.

However i am too seeing issuies stuttering on Freeview HD channels tennis and football very noticeable checked my other toshiba HD freeview and was smooth

There is no page down button but its not needed because if you hold the down button it scrolls through the channel list VERY fast.
You simply press select on the channel you want ( not a program on that channel ) then exit the EPG.
The EPG and menu system is not as good as on Vestel sets ( theirs is more intuitive ), But it still has a 7 day epg.
Sadly it seems my set is faulty - stuttering on Freeview HD channels , especially noticeable on sports.

Plasma wastes triple the electricity and bad for eyes. Many people love antique and vintage items. Maybe you are one of them. Just go to any rubbish dump. You can collect heaps of old plasma and crt TVs for free and save the environment as well. If they were as intelligent as you, they would not stop making plasma tvs

very few people want 3D tv's hence Samsung and LG have taking notice with samsung not releasing any 3D tv models this year and LG only releasing the odd one in their most expensive range. It may still be popular at cinemas but no one wants it in their home especially when their isn't a single 3D tv channel to watch.

This Seiki is way superior to it on all fronts.
Obviously that's just my opinion based on 2 days use. Might get to try some video files on weekend & report back.

Don't suppose you could try a few recent files from a USB stick and see if they play without stuttering/freezing? Tv programmes if you download anything like that? Since they changed the encoding standards my LG hardly plays anything and the digihome was useless with them!

Mine is fine with football and dark scenes. Screen quality is really good too. Just needs to be set up correctly which I doubt the numpty who wrote that review new how to do.
As for the no 3d or 4k troll. I have a 50 inch plasma that has an awesome pic with 3d and I have used 3d twice and have no need for 4k as don't have any 4k stuff to play or even have a bluray player so this TV is more than good enough for my conservatory.

I think anyone who thinks this TV will take pride of place in their living room & get them through Euro2016 or some intense gaming will be disappointed....even LGs lowest end models (about £239) can't offer motion-blur free viewing of football.
When you take a punt on a 43" TV for a £169 Seiki, your expectations of it should be realistic.

I don't know what file types they were but I had some random mobile phone clips, downloaded movies, some torrent files etc on my external hard drive & it played all of those without any freezing - but I couldnt tell you the file types sorry

"Ok for a bedroom but not for the Livingroom, if your watching a movie and it goes dark or even slightly dark you can't even make out there faces or any details. Same goes for football it can't keep up with the movements of the camera constantly goes blurry. Disappointed. "

Good to know everyone has had a good set and not a duff one like myself, Please be advised to check for stutter from all the inputs and different sources just incase one of yourselves may get our returned set as they "restocked" the item and ours had been packed up like new lol even though they took £80 off and not paid for return posting. all in all nearly £100 out of pocket. They don't tell you the restocking fee they'll knock off until its returned as its to be inspected. As we had tested the item, it got considered " heavily used" though seriously apart from the outer box tape being broken you could never tell it had even been taken out of the box. The fella is currently in the process of getting that money back, surpirise surprise... to no avail thus yet
Also please buy via Ebay that way you are covered by their 30 moneyback guarantee as opposed to direclty from AO.com
Sorry Gollywood dont mean to lay a dark point to your bargain, but I wouldnt like anyone to go through what we are!

Been playing around with this TV for 2 days now.
First of all, in my head I've always been a bit of a 'brand snob'.... but had a good experience with 2 UMC / Blaupunkts & I started to review my opinions on 'supermarket TVs'...
Had a bad recent experience with a Digihome so was hesitant about this Seiki.
For £169, I am blown away by this TV!
It doesn't look cheap. It doesnt feel cheap like a typical Vestel. The remote is well made. I wish my Sony Remote was this sensibly designed.
Its going to be used predominantly for Chromecast & as a monitor for a Laptop.
2 days in, the picture quality is fantastic as a monitor! A very clear display. Text & video very sharp. No problems with Chromecast either.
I'll happily give this 5 Stars!

Set this up. Pleasantly surprised... actually shocked at how good the picture quality is.
No loss of quality when connected to laptop as a monitor.
Crisp picture from Chromecast streaming.
Sound as expected but it's connected to a couple of speakers so no issues.

All set up and love it, for £170 you will be hard pushed to get a better tv than this! The picture quality in SD is ok but HD is great! Oh and for those with Sky remote issues try code 2060 it worked for me with a revision 6 Sky remote.

Ordered one anyway thanks. Replacing a 32 inch in a conservatory. If I like it I may get a 2nd to replace a 1 yr old 50 inch plasma in our small living room as the wife thinks its way too big and overwhelms the room. Really amazing pic though being a plasma but I have to agree with her as it's in front of a window and it blocks 50% of it lol.

Before ordering I had a few questions re: their warranty. Any problems, you contact AO.com. If it can't be resolved over the phone, they will send out an engineer to inspect & then repair/replace/refund wherever appropriate.
