Here's the 3 Camels chart:
Seems to have been very marginally cheaper (£3) once before, in the January sales by the looks of things.

Winner winner chicken dinner - heat added
Will warm up soon - if you ordered from amazon a few days ago
edit: may struggle to get a post purchase refund from Amazon if bought a few days ago due to their new policy - thanks Peew971

1% over what time? 1% a year would be pretty bad if 1 in every 100 people who buys one suffered a failure. 1% over 5 years, more acceptable?

These have been being voted hot at £150, what are peoples rationale for voting cold?
I'll admit I'm still holding out for lower pricing as I don't need one yet, but still a hot deal.

Now I do realise hard drives including SSDs do occasionally give up the ghost and concidentally my 240 GB version of this particular drive did just that today, without warning, after just about 18 months. Sandisk give a three year warranty on my version of the drive so I will have to see what, if anything, they will do to replace my now failed drive. Fortunately I did make regular backups so data loss shoud not be a problem, but it may be worth considering exactly how reliable these drives are.

The failure rate for these drives is less than 1%. You're just unlucky.

people are probably hung-up on there being faster ones available. I wouldn't be, Ive built and re-built a few systems recently with several different SSDs and once you're in SSD zone the difference isn't that significant because spinning drives are like being in the steam-age, you never get that same impact again, price and the amount you're going to be using it for the money spent is worth considering now

I've read some time this week that Amazon will stop giving refund for items that have become cheaper post purchase. Can't blame them, it's good customer service but it's not great business.

I suspect nublets2k is referring to the annual failure rate (AFR) as this is a commonly used measure of SSD reliability. Good SSDs should have an AFR below 1%.
I can't find an AFR for this drive but it has a Mean Time Before Failure (MTBF) of 1.75 million hours and a warranty of 3 years. For perspective most mechanical hard drives have a MTBF of 1 million hours. Samsung offer 5 year warranty on their EVO range, but that seems exceptional in the market.

"Less than 1%".

Trying to decide whether to replace a 1tb SSHD with this drive and whether it's worth the money vs performance difference.
I'm not sure SSHDs are that great having used one for a while now. Mine is a 9mm drive so if you replace it with a 7mm drive do you need a fitting kit to secure it properly?

You're right. I just tried via Chat and they told me they no longer offer those partial refunds.

Not unsurprising Amazon trying to cut their costs
i'll pay £100 at the most :stuck_out_tongue:
