Just dropped in price and I believe it's the lowest it ever been.
Reviews seem good bar a few who complain about over heating, but that seems to be a fault with only a few and I'm sure Amazon will replace any that have a problem.

I got mine for £9 about six months ago and use it regularly and for lengthy periods and never had a problem with overheating,£11.98 is good though.

I got mine few months ago and it's very convenient little and pretty fast gem, although after 30+ mins of usage it gets very, really hot, almost to the painful level.
Might be up to the specific specimen.
Hot anyway

well, 1x64gb went faulty after a short time and if not careful, the plastic cap can come off as happened on the 32gb (always been used with care), also got another 64gb and not in use regularly so not sure if the one that went faulty was the one in a million. Yes they get hot but I do not count that as an issue unless it really was the real problem with my first faulty 64gb as it was plugged on all the time.

You can pretty much only transfer files for around 10mins before it overheats to the point that it can corupt files or just disconnect and reconnects continually due to the heat. It burnt my fingers too, lol. Never expected a usb flash drive to be like that, should've read reviews before I got mine :/. The user at the top post probably didn't use it in usb 3.0 which gives too much power to such a tiny device. You are guaranteed to run into overheating problems if you do long transfer or even leaving it plugged in unused. Just my opinion and I rarely posts on these forums, but I think people should be warned.

I don't doubt you but I use a 32GB version permanently installed in my USB3 Chromebook to run Ubuntu via crouton alongside ChromeOS. Yes it gets warm/hot but I've had no problems re slowing data transfer or interrupted data.

The 16 and 32gb are also a great price. Got a 16gb to use as a dedicated windows install usb - never have one around when you need it....then you have to jump though hoops to install. Installing via usb3.0 is also insanely fast. I remember windows 95/98 installs via cd which is what im using as a comparison.

There seems to be enough reports of these getting very hot to put off most potential purchasers imo. So it can't be just one in a million. Surprised a manufacturer such as SanDisk would release these commercially with such a problem as surely they're testing before launch must have picked up on how hot these become whilst in use?
Great price but what's the point if the item becomes a safety hazard in use and there's a risk of losing any data stored on it?

So... Mine arrived today and I copied 12GB of music over to it very quickly using USB 3.0. I didn't time it, but it was something like 5 minutes if that?
The exposed plastic end of the USB stick did feel quite warm, but nothing unusual. As soon as it had finished I removed it and held it between my fingers. Yes I would say it was quite hot, but not enough to burn your fingers. I'd say if you put it on your back or another sensitive area it might hurt, but not an issue held in the hand.
I can also confirm that it works great plugged into my cars USB port and is very quick for playing back music and doesn't seen to get warm much at all during playback.

You can get the 128gb version for £21 inc delivery (non-Prime) via Flubit. Better deal.
